Hi Yall, keep viewing and calling me, which shows me there is some interest in the Axe House - and that my page is still being viewed...

It Warms my heart to know there is still some interest in axe throwing--Truly wish I could have kept it open a bit longer -- but
(alas it was not meant to be, and its definiately not worth crying over spilled milk at this point in time)

I am not at a place to re-open yet, ... if I do it will be late next year before I do - I have some personal things I still have to wrap up that will take me till mid-next year... at that point I will decided if I can manage another attempt... but 3 strikes I'm out, and honestly, just not sure I have the heart to endure another attempt...

So, for now - I am going to work on my Must Do List, and I will think about it more early next year, and time will tell - anything is possible!

Blessings, Shalom, and Happy Fall Ya'll

Public Service Announcement to My Loyal Supporters

I would like to take a moment to address a situation that came to my attention last night.

Although I am not a member of a particular local Facebook group, I was made aware of, and provided with, copies of a conversation in which I was publicly mentioned and personally criticized.

For clarification: the comments made were not in reference to my most recent business, 1090 Axe House, located at the mall.

Rather, they were directed toward my prior venture, Alamo Funatics, which operated on Main Street. I want to assure my supporters that the statements made were inaccurate; and he misrepresented the facts, and presented a distorted view of both my character and my efforts as a business owner in this community. ((He has DELETED His Comments)) but not before the bitterness and damage was done to me personally.

The comments were not only disappointing — they were disheartening and caused me considerable personal consternation and frustration. These kinds of personal & professional attacks rob me of my peace, joy, and serenity. It puts me in self-defense mode, tempting me to justify myself and disprove the falsehoods.

However, I recognize that I owe no one an explanation and am not obligated to defend my personal or business matters to anyone.
The burden rests solely on the individual making public accusations to ensure that any statements made are truthful, accurate, and substantiated — which, in this case, they were not.

While I understand that being a business owner may invite scrutiny, it is never easy to see one's private affairs discussed online without context or accuracy or personal knowlege - it frustrates me to have to be told by others that i’m being immorally attacked. It is deeply troubling to endure false and misleading information being spread in ways that can cause lasting damage to both my personal and professional reputation.

It is disheartening that some people fail to recognize the significant emotional toll that unfounded and misleading comments can cause. The emotional toll of false and misleading remarks is very real — it strips away joy, undermines confidence, and creates deep frustration and unnecessary emotional distress/stress!

Though the road ahead is challenging, I will strive to remain grounded in truth, dignity, professionalism, and grace, doing my best to navigate adversity with strength and resilience in response to the recent unfounded remarks.

I want the Community of Alamogordo to know that following the loss of my husband in 2019, I dedicated myself to creating a unique, family-friendly entertainment facility for our community — which included axe throwing, a smash house, mini golf, paint rooms, and more. My goal was always to create a positive, affordable environment for local families and youth, offering healthy, fun alternatives to the streets.

Despite my best efforts and significant personal investment, my endeavors did not achieve the success I had envisioned. The first attempt faced serious challenges, including the impact of COVID-19, internal setbacks, and a landlord-tenant dispute that ultimately resulted in my eviction — though the circumstances surrounding that situation have been misrepresented and greatly exaggerated.

The closure of my second business was influenced by a combination of factors, including limited community participation, a less visible location, financial strain, and personal circumstances. Together, these challenges contributed to the difficult but necessary decision to pause my efforts for now. Nevertheless, I remain hopeful that, in time, new opportunities may arise.

The challenges I have faced over the last 6 years are all a part of my story — but they are mine to share, not others to tell. I personally have chosen to move forward with forgiveness and peace, rather than bitterness. Past business dealings, including those involving my former landlords, have been or are being resolved privately, and I respectfully decline to entertain any public discussion or speculation regarding those matters.

As part of this announcement, I would like once again to clarify that the information recently shared online regarding my previous business affair with Alamo Funatics is inaccurate, and I reserve the right to protect my privacy and I will be taking the appropriate action to address any violations.

In Regards to the Future of 1090 Axe House: At this time, I have not made a final decision about whether I will attempt to reopen. I have important personal matters to address first — most notably an upcoming knee surgery, with a recovery period extending into the late fall. If I do reopen, it will likely not occur until sometime in 2026. However: Once I have made the determination to re-open or to permanently close I will update my facebook and web page accordingly.

In closing, I want to sincerely thank all who have supported me over the years. Your support, encouragement and belief in my vision have meant more to me than words can express.

With appreciation and continued respect,
May God Bless all of you, — Shalom,
Deborah Cobb

We are officially out of the Mall
Our things are in storage
i am going to be working on things that have need my attention - my house, finances and myself — over the next several months….
time will tell if i can manage to re open my doors in late fall or sometime next year—
lots to do in the mean time…

once again i appreciate everyone’s support and encouragement— it means a lot to me!

WE ARE HALF WAY through our tearing down phase - at this time we are praying - i’m planning on reopening in the fall - new location tbd -

some things are going into storage / other things are going to be sold - i’lll be posting those things soon~

the 3 couches, wood stools, wall bars, bar stools, the black front end counter tops - - decor and more
just dont habe room for all of it in storage —

After a very long agonizing 6 months of trying to keep my doors open … I have decided at this time for numerous reasons (some personal, but mostly professional/financial reasons) it is best
to close out my venue at the White Sands Mall

UPDATE EDIT:
My son began the take down process last weekend - we will be out by end of the month- or mid feb at the latest.

- i tried to relocate to a place in town but the guy next door had first right to rent it and he choose to exert his right so that fell through - which was probably best anyways as my struggles would continue …

I have 2 week long trips scheduled in february-
a grandbaby arriving in march
a week long trip in April
and a knee replacement a few days after i get back (the recovery time is 3-4 months)

at this time i am only one running the business- and i was unable to negotiate a change of venue in the mall and the cost of rent at mall goes up feb 1 - which i cannot afford — as i’m already struggling to meet my current obligations- and since i can’t afford to hire anyone to help me - and i’d be closed on and off for the first 7-8 months of this year…and, i cannot afford to have another year like last year - …. as agonizing of a decision as it was to make…. closing temporarily is the right thing to do —if i want to save the business and reopen -

so i have decided to put it into storage - take some time off, get back up on my feet - (both physically and financially) and then…

find a new location that allows me to operate outside mall hours, (has a bathroom) is affordable, with good parking, and visibility— so people see i’m here … (i was basically invisible at the mall for the last 2 years) which is not good for business …
(((if anyone knows of a good and affordable location and/or wants to go into business with me— i’m all ears)))

it is my hope that by the end of 2025 or early next year i will be able to re open my doors and continue to provide this unique opportunity/sport to our community!
who knows perhaps 3rd time is the charm ~ (try try try again, they say it took Edison 1001 times to make a light bulb... so only time will tell~how many times its going to take me... : )

To all of those of you (and there’s just too many to name) who have tried to help me - from the bottom of my heart i’m forever grateful—
much prayers and blessings your way ~ and for all of us in 2025 ~ may it be a year of a double portion of grace, perfection and new beginnings ~
