in my practice, nostalgia becomes not a retreat but a site of friction. i treat it as a dissociative structure that can be opened up, examined, and reassembled. the work reveals how people use nostalgia to make sense of the world — not by remembering accurately, but by creating emotional shortcuts that help them survive. and by interrupting those shortcuts, your textiles invite viewers to sit with the complexity that nostalgia tries to smooth away.
