This year's Art of The African Diaspora Satellite show at Resistance Press 510 was amazing! I just wanted to give a sincere THANK YOU to all the participating artists & for sharing your work, your perspectives, & personality with us & the community. Nancy F. Johnson & Darrin Westmore, you were amazing to work with in my gallery. Thank you!
The serendipitous firepit art talk was my favorite segment. The diversity of ethnicity, age, & subculture was pretty amazing to witness with everyone feeling capacity to share & ask questions. This show definately carried a higher vibrational spiritual sheath but was also grounded in the warm energy of home, location, tradition & community.
I also want to say THANK YOU to all the people who put energy into making this a reality. Studio 23 for working diligently along side me & being so wanting/willing to celebrate the African Diaspora in Alameda. Tradition Café for highlighting the cultural significance of the art in an undeniable visual format that will continue on between our annual shows. To Julie's Coffee & Tea Garden for donating healthy bites & tasty delights for our event. Digifli Community Bulletin Boards for the free advertising, Artpush.com for the marketing support & planning. And to the great Eric Murphy who was our charming AOTAD host for both galleries.
Huge THANK YOU to those who collected some really special & amazing artwork, to those who brought their wonderful spirit & energy, to those who followed their curiosity, & to those who were present in whatever capacity they could show up within. We love seeing you 🙏🏽 Thank you for sharing time & space, curiosity & creativity, ... and some amazing art of the African Diaspora 2026 in Alameda.
It was a joy & honor curating & look forward to continuing this show annually ... but it takes your support. We are not funded & it takes a lot to making this all go. Please consider donating to Resistance Press 510, supporting our sponsors, getting involved with Artpush.org & aotad.org.
Donate, participate, get on email lists, enjoy tea at Julies, & be sure to attend next year's show!
Enjoy the vid.
