I did this many years ago as a study of reflections and how light worked in that way. Was actually trying to solve a graphic logo problem involving a reflected surface. A work related task. Before computers ... anyway I sorta got carried away...what's strange about this rendering is that Wood Ducks are actually colorful and happy creatures.,,yet my capture makes him seem boastful as a peacock. I have seen them swimming around flooded lowland timer in the sunny days of winter scooping up acorns along water's edge. The Wood Duck wears his colors out front. Such a noble little duck. From memory of a group I shared time with on a Grendel pond in the swampland of Alabama.

A recollection from hunting in the Texas hill country. The temps there drop with a sudden plunge just before dawn. Warm winds blow any moment in winter. Then you can watch the whitetail turn with their noses into the wind as they cautiously approach their bed for the coming day.
