We are overwhelmed with gratitude for your incredible support at the fundraiser in honor of Raychel. Thanks to you, we had 87 attendees and raised over $5000 for her family.
A special thank you to everyone who attended, donated, or lent a helping hand, and especially to the kind strangers who provided water and snacks to everyone waiting in line. In honor of a sweet soul lost too soon due to domestic violence, all of us at Black Amethyst will be doing a flash sale on July 21st to raise money for Raychel’s family.

100% of the profits will be donated to her family.

10 am to 6 pm • no appointments, walk- ins only!

Let’s Talk! (about tattoos & breastfeeding)

You might be wondering, “Can I get a tattoo while breastfeeding or pregnant?” Unfortunately, you should avoid getting tattoos while breastfeeding. It is suggested that breastfeeding mothers wait at least until 9-12 months after birth, when the child is no longer dependent solely on breastmilk before getting a tattoo. One of the main risks of getting a tattoo while breastfeeding or pregnant is infection. Even for those who are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding, infections are one of the most common side effects of tattoos. Both local and systemic infections can occur with tattoos. there’s still some concern about whether ink can transfer into breastmilk, especially since the ink tends to break down in the body during the months and years following the tattoo procedure. For this reason, it’s important that expectant and breastfeeding mothers wait to get a tattoo. We are not medical professionals and every tattoo shop/artist has different standards. To ensure our clients (and their babies) safety, we do require a doctor’s note of approval for any breastfeeding clients!

After years of shared experiences and wonderful connections, I am reaching out with a mix of emotions to share some important news about our beloved shop.

It has been a privilege to serve you but with a heavy heart, I've decided to step down from the role as shop owner. The responsibilities have taken a toll on my mental health over the past years, and it's time to prioritize self-care and lighten my mental load.

As a result, the shop, in its current form, will be closing its doors. However, I am delighted to announce a new beginning as it reopens as a small collective, co-run by myself, Sadie, and Ireland. This transition is fueled by a desire to maintain the essence of our community while sharing the responsibilities more equitably.

The memories we've created together are truly irreplaceable, and my heart is filled with gratitude and love for each of you. Your support has been the backbone of our journey.
