Akron Haunted School House and Laboratory 2022 is our 49th consecutive season of screams at the same location! For more than four decades, Akron’s autumn air has been swarmed with screams gushing from millions of souls brave enough to explore our seven floors of combined terror.

The Haunted Schoolhouse takes you on a three-floor journey through the librarian's scariest stories. Just wait until you see what Ms. Alvah has in store for you. In the Haunted Laboratory, a team of scientists is working to contain a vile virus that transforms its victims into a horde of tortured creatures. Will you escape the building's four floors before the virus contaminates your veins? Let the nightmare begin...

The legendary Akron Haunted Schoolhouse has been scaring millions for over four decades. Join us this Fall to celebrate our 49th (Schoolhouse) and 42nd (Laboratory) seasons of screams.

This season you'll find huge changes inside the Schoolhouse. NEW scenes, more scares, and incredible detail.

NEW THIS SEASON: If you purchase tickets online, you will be required to choose a day that you plan to attend. Also, you will need to choose whether you'll plan to arrive before or after 9:30pm. Also, tickets will be limited, so be sure to get yours early!

NEW THIS SEASON: Our busiest nights offer the longest wait times. Therefore, the admission price for our Peak Saturdays (10/15, 10/22, and 10/29) is higher than all other days. Visit one of the other 14 nights and enjoy lower prices and shorter waits!

NEW THIS SEASON: Midway Only Admission tickets are available for guests under 21 for only $5! Guests 21+ may enjoy FREE access to the Midway. Come on in and hang out, enjoy our bar and the food truck and bask in the wonderful atmosphere of our Monster Midway. Guests will not be permitted into the Midway without either Midway or Haunt Admission tickets.

NEW THIS SEASON: Sunday Kids' Admission. Bring the kids (17 & under) on Sundays (10/16, 10/23, or 10/30) and get them in for just $20. 4 kids' tickets may be purchased for every 1 adult admission.

NOTICE: To curtail unruly crowds, we are enforcing an age restriction tonight (Saturday 5/14) at the Haunted Schoolhouse.

All patrons under the age of 17 MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian over 18 to be permitted entrance into the haunted house. Furthermore, there must be ONE adult per every 4 kids in any given group.

The parents/guardians MUST be present at the box office when the minors are buying tickets, in the queue lines, AND inside the attraction. You MAY NOT simply drop off your minors and leave the premises.

Additionally, officers from the Akron Police Department will be patrolling the ticketing area and midway to keep crowds from getting out of hand, and from line jumping. There will be a ZERO TOLERANCE policy in regards to any behavior along these lines.

-The recent Tornado that ripped thru several states devastated a small community right up the road from us(Bremen, KY).

-There are many without homes and many have lost loved ones. There are folks that have NOTHING.

-The thing about living in a rural community is that “everyone knows everyone” and even if we don’t know you we know someone who does. There are many affected that we know and we hope that you will join us in helping.

-We are donating ALL NET PROCEEDS from the sale of this shirt. All money WILL GO DIRECTLY to folks in that community thru local organizations.

This event is a total blackout* of the Haunted Schoolhouse (the Lab is NOT open this night.) No show lighting will be on, only animatronics, actors, and audio. You must find your way through the floors of the Schoolhouse with the aid of only the light from a single glowstick.

Halloween is only 10 days away! Have you visited HSHL yet this season?!

We've experienced unexpected and unprecedented crowds at HSHL this season. As Halloween grows nearer, that means larger crowds and longer lines, so keep that in mind if you plan to visit this weekend or next. Saturday nights are especially busy, and we had more customers than ever last weekend.

Your best bet to not get stuck in the box office line, is to GET YOUR TICKETS ONLINE EARLY! Online ticket holders can go past the box office line and STRAIGHT TO the attraction entrance!

Also, the earlier in the night you visit, the less your wait to get into the show will be. Fast Pass upgrades are encouraged, but those may also be limited to ensure Fast Pass holders get their money's worth.

We're also open on Friday and Sunday nights, with much smaller crowds. So, think about moving your spooky time to one of those nights for a much more laid-back outing.

This historical location, The Reese Building has paranormal activity. The Reese Building contains a tunnel which at one time was used as a make shift morn.
In the year 1933, a hurricane stroke South Texas (Hurricane No.11).
This Hotel, The Reese Building was supposedly used as a makeshift health facility during this storm. And it's believe those that past away in this building, The Reese Building still reside there as spirits. Lots of paranormal activity that we encountered at The Reese Building.
