If they are not picked up this year, they will be available to pick up when the track opens in 2021. What a wonderful day at our Summer Series Awards Picnic! We had a record number of Summer Series Jerseys, Perfect Attendance Hoodies, Outstanding Volunteer Hoodies, and full slate of Staff Hoodies to pass out. It was a fantastic day with lots of riders on the track, families hanging out, an Amazing BBQ Buffett & a Warm Bonfire.

For those that couldn’t make it today to get your jerseys, we will have them available at Registration.

That’s a wrap on the North East Gold Cup Finals at Akron BMX!

Congratulations to all those riders that went away with a brand new yellow/gold plate this year.

It was an honor to be able to host these Gold Cup finals for Westmoreland BMX and USABMX. We hope they will be able to host this event next year.
A great BIG THANKS to all the BMX families that traveled and competed all weekend long, the USABMX team that ran an amazing event, and the incredible group of volunteers that make Akron BMX what it is.
Special thanks to your generosity with our raffle and 50/50 donations and team that exceeded all expectations. This has helped us raise a large portion of the funds for our new concession building. We can’t wait to serve you from it soon.

2020 Updated Fall Schedule:
We are pleased to release our updated schedule. We have been getting new riders every week and great turn outs on Thursday night practices. Even though we have had a late start for the 2020 season, it has been packed with lots of amazing events. We are looking forward to a lot more exciting BMX ahead of us.
*Please note we will not have Balance Bike Races on Thursday nights.

Riders don’t miss out on the COVID STIMULUS that the USA BMX is offering. If your license expires this year or early next year renew on line by 12/15/20 and receive an extra 2 months of membership. Be sure to credit Akron BMX for your membership. The points Akron BMX receives for your membership will help the track to be able to continue to hold the State Final at Akron BMX.

We are excited to pass out a record number of jerseys this year and perfect attendance hoodies!!

This is a ticketed/closed event for the riders that earned their summer series Akron BMX Jerseys and their families. Only The qualified riders will have track access to ride and showcase their brand new race jersey. Don’t miss out on a great afternoon at the track eating and riding. We will be taking a group photo of everyone in their jerseys too.

All Tickets must be purchased ahead of time.

NE Gold Cup Championships Oct 2-4

With DK Bicycles Gold Cup Championships right around the corner, here's what you need to know when going for your Gold Plate!
•All 6 Finals will offer a Gold Cup Qualifier on Friday in place of the standard double point prerace. This qualifier will be considered a last chance qualifier and will count toward a rider's best two Gold Cup Qualifier scores. The best two qualifiers plus Saturday and Sunday will make up the 4 required races.
•Gold Cup plates will not be awarded to Mixed Open and Open classes, however, those riders will be awarded the Gold Cup jacket and event award.
•The Gold Cup plate ceremony will not be held in an effort to practice social distancing. Riders will still be awarded their plates at the event and encouraged to share their Gold Cup Plate photos using #DKGoldCup on Facebook and Instagram to be featured on the #USABMX social pages.

Akron BMX will be taking registration three ways for the State Final Pre-Race and Final September 12 and September 13, 2020. Registration on line will be available until Thursday September 10 at noon, we will be taking preregistration at the registration building on Sunday September 6 during our scheduled race and Thursday September 10 during our scheduled practice and we will also have registration on September 12 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm and September 13 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

USA BMX now has the final piece to the 2020 regular season National Series as well as the last location for the 2020 Gold Cup Finals!

Due to the rain outs Akron BMX has lowered the number of required races to 6 races.
A list of riders with perfect attendance these riders must race 8/27 and 8/30 to qualify for the perfect attendance sweatshirt
A list of riders with 6 to 8 races which have qualified for the jersey
A list of riders with 5 races these riders need to race on 8/27 or 8/30 to qualify for the jersey
A list of riders with 4 races these riders need to race on 8/27 and 8/30 to qualify for the jersey

Ohio State Series Alert:
Kettering has Rescheduled their State Series Races that were scheduled for this weekend 8/1 & 8/2.
Rescheduled to 8/15 & 8/16.

We encourage all our riders to participate in this series. We will be hosting the State Finals again in September and there is still 4 races remaining to get qualified for an 2020 Ohio state plate.

FYI - Erie, PA has a Gold Cup this Sunday. We will still be having our Warnickie Scholarship Race/VintageBMX Day (No Membership Required) on 8/15 as well as a local on 8/16 for those that are not going Kettering.
