I think this video by Kurt Yue, who is a professional full time actor, really explains what the WGA and SAG/AFTRA is dealing with. People who do creative and performative work need to get paid, too. Too often what they do is undervalued and frequently people act as though they do it for only the love of doing it - only getting to do what you enjoy should be payment enough. But, they do it for a living - just like anyone else with a job.
