After Byron Dylan Delpinal and Mac Love joined the program to talk about Akron Pulse, we spent the afternoon setting up our DBA and making some minor refinements to the website. Happy to support Stewart's Caring Place and recognize Bikers For B***s tonight at the Butterfly Gala. Thanks to their support, amazing services, and team - people diagnosed with cancer do not have to face their healing journey alone. Tonight was a great showing and reminder of how this disease touches all of our lives, and how we in turn can support and touch others lives to make a positive difference.

It took Mac 20 years to complete “Embracing Unknown,” a 4’x8’ holographic painting he made to help fill a gallery space that was short on submissions for a holiday show.

“I wanted to create something that felt like life, love, and death entwined,” says Mac. “I was also trying to strike a balance between simplicity, street art, and Rorschach design.”

Mac always loved the piece, but it was damaged in transport after the exhibit and remained in storage for the next 20 years.

“It’s not often you get to finish something when life intervenes. I’m really happy with how this turned out and finally getting to share it with others.”

“Embracing Unknown” is on display at our Forever Changes gallery and available to purchase.

Highland Square’s popping with NORKA Beverage!

When it came time to restore this Akron mural, we thought it would fun to flip the script and NORKA was game. Their can-sugar soda was born in Akron in 1924 and they’ve been super-supportive of the community, including preserving the famous Mary Coyle ice-cream parlor. Thanks to their support and a partnership with Highland Square Theatre, we were able to preserve this collaborative creative vision for Akron.

This news coverage confirmed 3 things for us:

1️⃣ AKRONPULSE.com is something a lot of people have wanted for a long time.

2️⃣ It’s already working. Judging from the web traffic alone, people like you are discovering hundreds of local events every day. And there is just no way so many of you were clicking on “CatVideoFest 2026” because you already knew about it.

3️⃣ The sacrifices we made were worth it. We didn’t have time or financial support, but our friends and families saw our passion for this project and gave us space to run with it.

📣Please tell everyone about AKRONPULSE.com - it can do so much good for artists, small businesses, non-profits, and community organizations across Summit County. Thank you for helping us champion this creative endeavor!
