Competition season is officially underway at Encore Extreme! ❤️🖤

Our BDS Company dancers are kicking off the season in Columbia, SC with a weekend of convention classes and competition at Encore Extreme!

Last night, three of our Junior soloists, Lauryn, Addilyn, and Kenzi, took the stage for the first time this season, and they did an amazing job! We are so proud of these three and loved getting to cheer them on as they helped kick off our competition season! 👏

Now we’re ready to cheer on our Teen soloists and BDS Teen group as they take the stage tonight!

And we’re just getting started! There are lots more BDS solos, group dances, and competition and convention weekends ahead this season.

Stay tuned for more from our BDS dancers at Encore Extreme this weekend! ❤️🖤

🏆 BEST OF AIKEN 2026! ❤️🖤

We are SO excited to share that Burns Dance Studio has been voted Best Dance Studio in the 2026 Best of Aiken Awards! We’re also proud to have been recognized as a Favorite for Gymnastics!

This one means so much because YOU voted for us! Thank you to our BDS families, dancers, alumni, friends, and everyone throughout Aiken County who took the time to vote and continue to support our studio.

Since 1982, BDS has been a place for dancers to learn, grow, work hard, make memories, and be part of a dance family. We’re so proud of the generations of dancers who have called Burns home and so thankful for everyone who has been part of our story through the years.

Thank you, Aiken, for choosing Burns Dance Studio as your BEST DANCE STUDIO! We’re proud to call Aiken home. ❤️🖤🏆

Since 1982. Still dancing. Still growing. Always BDS.

⭐ SEPTEMBER STUDENT OF THE MONTH ⭐

Congratulations to our September Student of the Month, Alina Marrone!

Alina has been dancing at Burns since she was 3 years old, and this year she’s taking on a new challenge as a first-year Company member!

Alina brings lots of energy to the studio, and we’ve loved watching her take on new styles and dances this season. She’s working hard to “Level Up” by paying attention in class and putting effort into her training.

We’re excited to see Alina continue to work hard, grow, and Level Up throughout her first Company season!

Congratulations, Alina! ❤️🖤

A weekend all about TAP! ❤️🖤

BDS Junior Company dancers Lauryn and Kenzi spent the weekend in Savannah at SURGE Tap Fest, taking classes and learning from some of the best in the tap world!

They had the opportunity to take class from an incredible faculty of tap artists, including the legendary Jason Samuels Smith, Emmy Award-winning tap dancer and choreographer.

Their review of the weekend? So much fun, definitely challenging, and they can’t wait to go back next year!

We love seeing our BDS dancers take advantage of opportunities like this and bring new experiences back home to the studio. Way to go, Lauryn and Kenzi!

Celebrating our BDS grandparents! ❤️🖤

We see you pulling up for dance drop-off and pick-up, watching through the observation windows, helping get dancers where they need to be, and cheering them on from the audience when it’s time to take the stage!

Grandparents are such a special part of our BDS family, and we’re thankful for all the ways you show up for your dancers throughout the year.

We’re sharing just a few sweet photos today, but we know there are so many more BDS grandparents to celebrate!

BDS parents and grandparents, drop a favorite photo with your BDS dancer in the comments. We’d love to see them! ❤️

What a weekend with Sarah Jo Fazio! ❤️🖤

Since 1999, Sarah Jo has made time each year to return to BDS and share her talent and choreography with our dancers. It’s a weekend we always look forward to! This year, she set our jazz production along with two group routines for our Company dancers.

Originally from Ithaca, New York, Sarah Jo is a graduate of Oklahoma City University and is now based in New York City. Her work has taken her across the country and around the world, choreographing for companies, artists, studios, theme parks, sports teams, and more.

We are so thankful to have Sarah Jo back at BDS sharing her talent and challenging our dancers to grow. Our Company worked so hard all weekend, and one thing is for sure… BDS kids never forget a Sarah Jo Fazio weekend!

Thank you, Sarah Jo! We can’t wait to see these routines hit the stage! ❤️🖤

🎉 Happy Birthday, Ms. Madelyn! 🩰

Today, we’re celebrating Madelyn Morin and are so grateful to have her as part of our BDS family!

Ms. Madelyn grew up dancing in the Augusta area and has extensive training and experience in ballet, including Cecchetti training and years of performing in ballet productions. She brings her deep knowledge and love of ballet to BDS, helping dancers of all ages build strong ballet technique, improve their artistry, and develop confidence in their performance skills.

We’re incredibly thankful for everything Ms. Madelyn pours into our dancers and for the passion she brings to every ballet class. Help us wish her a very happy birthday! 🎂
