Pretty wild day. Got second Moderna shot Wednesday 0945 hours and about 10 hours later, affects hit hard. They say 80% will get flu like affects at about 10-12 hours. On cue. at about 1945 hours, got heavy chills and shakes and whole body sore. worked through it this morning and getting better. No flu or fever but feels like it. Nevertheless, was still able to make the Hula Bowl practice today and shoot some great NFL Players. Got to meet and shoot Jim Zorn of the Seattle Seahawks, NFL Head Coach Rex Ryan, and Chicago Bear Hall of Famer linebacker Mike Singletary. Game is Sunday. The first Hula Bowl Hall of Famer to the club is Drew Brees so crossing my fingers he and other inductee Eric Dickerson show up to the game and awards. Here's a few shots from the practice. I felt like crap and could barely hold up my cameras, lots of body pain from that second shot. So a warning to prepare but of course get those shots. It's still worth 24 hours of discomfort. The first shot was nothing. Second shot kicked my butt.

Wishing a special Happy 16th Birthday to my daughter Shea. We had a blast celebrating each night from Friday night through Sunday with a special dinner with grandparents, Aunty Beth and Uncle Les, and her cousins Matthew, Hannah and John David. They tried the Breakout Room and Pearlridge Diamond Heist game again. Fun Days! Grandma and grandpa showed off their photography skills too.

The worlds best drummer Neil Peart passed away. A very sad day for Rush fans and drummers. Nobody played like he did. Glad to have some of his history in my rock memorabilia collection. A business person would say sell now, a true fan would say never. That’s me. What a great career he had and such an influence to other drummers. Probably the biggest influence for drummers ever. Peart never signed much so glad I got what I did.

PHOTO SHOOT: Army vs Hawaii - With 1:34 left in the game with Army driving and a long pass to the end zone, Rojesterman Farris II snagged the ball in the end zone for an interception and ran it back for a record 100 yard touchdown to seal the game and 52-31 victory on Senior Night at Aloha Stadium.

Looking forward to heading back up to Boise, Idaho next weekend to cover the Mountain West Championship Game between the Boise Broncos and Hawai’i Warriors. It was a light rain and freezing cold when I shot there 6 weeks ago. Looks like it’ll be much colder this time around dropping to the 20s and 40% chance of snow. That’ll be a neat experience outside what we usually shoot here in Hawaii. I can tell you I was freezing after 4 hours in the elements in October and bundled well, so this time should be similar or a bit more challenging. The biggest challenge is keeping the lens glass from fogging up from the low dew point. I’ll be shipping up an empty large pelican case as a check-in and will lock it outside the media room door and left outside in the cold at breaks and halftime photo uploads. You never want to take the gear inside during the game or the temperature and humidity change with low dew point will wet all the glass and fog them out to be unuseable for hours. Even back at the hotel gotta leave all the gear in the cold closed case until at least the next day to acclimate. I’m learning these lessons from trial and error from recent cold football shoots the last few winters at night shooting football at BYU, Utah State, Colorado State and Wyoming. All in the 30s and wet. That low dew point is a killer. Time to bundle up again
