A horse's keen sense of smell will always give you the first warning. 🐻

Our Dad, Clark Kelley Price, loves to paint some of the high-stakes moments that real cowboys face when out on the range alone. His painting "Scent of a Grizzly," drops you right into one of the most undesirable situations a rider can find themselves in.

The duties of the ranch have required this cowboy to return to the cow camp long after dark. To get there, he must navigate his mount through a thick, timbered area by moonlight—a stretch of country known to be heavily frequented by Grizzly bears.

In the pitch black, human eyes are useless. But right at this exact second, the horse freezes. Its ears pin forward, its muscles tense, and its nose catches the distinct scent carried on the night breeze. You don't see the bear, but the horse knows exactly what is waiting out there in the shadows.

PRINT OF THE WEEK: "Elk Omelette"

This incident happened to Robin of Georgia. He was working for the Yellowstone Park Service, packing out on the thoroughfare trail. A large bull elk come around the bend on the same trail, saw the horse and mules and apparently thought they were other elk. He lowered his head, snorted and pawed the earth ready for a fight. Two of the mules, tied head to pack saddle, spooked and ran on either side of a tree - breaking the packs - scattering food and supplies - and crashed unto each other, breaking free from Robin and each other. All 3 mules lit out back the way they had come. Quite the rodeo. The elk disappeared fortunately - but Robin spent quite a while gathering up food, supplies and the long gone mules!

You’ll notice several brands on this one horse. That pretty much tells the story about him. He’s been sold and traded many times because… well, let’s just say he’s not the favorite horse to ride. Usually a horse like this is going to buck. Especially early in the morning when his back is cold and the blankets and saddle are cold. Makes him hump up. The rider better be prepared. That’s why he’s got one hind leg foxed. That’s so he can get on the horse and pull the quick release knot and be ready to ride.

"Son, you were right. You hit that buck right in the heart... Please forgive me." 🏔️🏹🦌

Inside: The detailed recounting, 3-part true story, of our dad's very first mountain hunt.

Our dad, Clark Kelley Price, didn't just paint the West from his studio—every ounce of grit, humor, and landscape in his artwork came from a life lived deeply on the range and in the high country.

We wanted to draw attention to the beautifully written personal 3-part "memoir" titled "First Buck" that is up on in the "Stories" section of the website. It is a fun read for any hunter, sportsman, or fan of his art.

Picture this: It's October on Mount Harrison, Idaho. A 13-year-old Clark is freezing in the high sagebrush before dawn alongside his father, his brother Tom, and his legendary, deadpan Uncle Parley.

Suddenly, a massive single-file line of 17 majestic bucks silhouettes against the orange sunrise. Everyone tags out except young Clark. On the way down the mountain, a lone buck bounces across the hill. Clark borrows his dad's r***e, recalls some target-shooting advice he read in Outdoor Life magazine, takes aim, and fires! But then, his dad looks through the brush and tells him, "Son, you missed." 💔

What happens next? 😉 We love this memory of our Dad's and think you will too!

We have a massive SURPRISE, and it’s something we’ve never done before… 🧩✨

For decades, you've collected our dad’s artwork on your walls. But today, we are officially launching a completely new, hands-on way to bring the spirit of the West into your home.

Introducing the Official Clark Kelley Price Western Puzzle Collection! 🤠🏔️

Sometimes there's only so much wall space, and we wanted to create a new opportunity to bring some of his beautiful artwork into your home. We hope these puzzles can be the perfect cozy activity for the cooler upcoming months. Each puzzle consists of 504-pieces that finish at a stunning 16x20 inches (so, if you did have the extra wall space, you could even frame it when you're done!)

We are testing the waters to see what you think. Right now, we are starting with four classic paintings, each capturing a completely unique side of the Western lifestyle:

⚠️ CRITICAL NOTE ON QUANTITIES: Because this is our very first time producing puzzles, quantities are extremely limited.
