"Come From Away" opens on September 11, 2026 - the 25th anniversary of a day so many of us will never forget. In our discussions about September 11, we kept coming back to the first responders and the situations that they handled, the calls they answered, and what those moments of being first must have felt like. These folks rise up again and again, when people need it most.

In remembrance of 9/11, the Croswell will be giving any first responder in the audience of "Come From Away" a specially designed embroidered patch as a small token of our gratitude. At the heart of this show is the best of humanity, the power of kindness, and the true spirit of the human connection. And we want to keep that message going strong. Thank you for all that you do.

Do you have your tickets for "Come From Away"? Well. don't miss the chance to get "Screeched In" at Farver's after the show! We couldn't think of a better way to welcome all of you "Come From Aways"!

What does it mean to be "Screeched In"?
A “Screech-in” is a Newfoundland tradition used to welcome newcomers. The ritual is typically performed at a pub by a Newfoundland resident. The newcomer kisses a codfish and is asked by a resident, “Is ye a Screecher?" The newcomer replies with the traditional response, takes a bite of bologna (known as Newfoundland steak), takes a shot of Screech (a type of rum) and then receives their certificate from the Royal Order of Newfoundland Screechers.

Well, we're doing the "Screech-In" Farver's style! You'll take a shot of Screech*, eat a bite of fudge from our friends at The Buzz Cafe and Marketplace ,recite a verse specially prepared for the occasion, and then kiss Governor Croswell! After that, you'll receive your certificate and have your picture taken to share far and wide that you were "Screeched-In" at Farver's! $12 per person.

This will be available in Farver's after every performance of "Come From Away"!

We are excited to announce that our 2027 All-Area High School Show will be the play, "Clue"! Yes! You read that correctly...

"Clue" will be the first play in the 17 year history of the Croswell's All Area High School production.

You may have seen our three, ahem, clues - the chandelier, the rooftop, and the mustard and put in all together but did you guess that it would be:

Merriam-Webster defines first responder as: a person who is among those responsible for going immediately to the scene of an accident or emergency to provide assistance

Throughout our run of "Come From Away", the Croswell will be honoring first responders in our community and communities beyond. Kindness, connection, and the best of humanity is at the core of this moving true story from September 11, 2001, and we would like to carry that feeling forward.

During each performance of "Come From Away", we are inviting patrons to write a thank you note to a first responder at one of our Thank You Note Stations in the theater. These notes of encouragement, thanks, gratitude, and appreciation will be personally delivered to them by the Croswell after the final performance.

There will be a few other ways that we are honoring these fine folks so keep on the look out! We hope you'll join us in uplifting our community and in sharing the power of kindness.

"It takes you to a place you never want to leave!” - Newsweek

"Come From Away" takes place in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. The island of Newfoundland is known as "The Rock." On September 11, 2001, when the U.S. shut down its airspace, planes were diverted to fly into Gander International Airport.

The town, with a then population of 10,000, took in close to 7,000 international passengers. Gander and its neighboring towns: Glenwood, Lewisporte, Appleton, Gambo, and Norris Arm all welcomed “Come From Aways” (a traveler to Newfoundland who was not born there).

This September 11, the Croswell welcomes you to The Rock and to the musical that has been critically acclaimed and applauded since it's debut.

Because we come from everywhere, we all come from away.
