A great article in Berkshire Eagle about Berkshire's drag scene - The Adams Theater and "the Majesty of the Berkshires" pageant from last June were mentioned in the story.

There are no gay bars in the Berkshires. As a result, an art form that emerged in nightlife is largely seen not only at restaurants but at student centers, schools,

What does it mean to be a social entrepreneur in the performing arts?

Just like any other startup businesses, we set up an achievable goal, made a plan, stick to the plan, remained flexible to adjustments as external conditions evolved, and learned as we grew.

After a successful pop-up season in 2023, we are looking ahead to 2024.

Are we ready to scale up for a fuller calendar next year? With valuable insights from this past season and with thorough planning in the months ahead, we think we can.

We like data and graphics!

In 2023, more than 1/3 of the Adams Theater audience are from Adams, Cheshire, Savoy, and Lanesborough, with another 17% from North Adams, Florida and Clarksburg. With the Berkshire County residents representing more than 75% of our audience base, we are proud to claim that our programming fosters community participation.

Meanwhile, the majority of our performing artists are from the region as well, although we constantly have eyes out for collaborators across the country and the world, inviting them for residencies, presentations, and local engagements through the arts.

Season Zero at the Adams Theater -

In December 2022, we planned the seeds of a pop-up season in the middle of a renovation, because so many local talents had reached out to us indicating some interests of collaboration.

In March 2023, a short season of 9 performances were announced at the long vacant Adams Theater from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

We were welcomed by excited audience, enthusiastic volunteers, and intrigued artists. As a result, our inaugural season was extended by 2 months.

Thanks to all those who have participated in this experience!

CP4P International Productions is presenting research and scenes of new work entitled, "I will dance with those oak trees as long as" at the Adams Theater at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. The performance is free.

In addition to witnessing a new work unfold, you'll have an opportunity to have conversations with the artists about their process of creation.

The piece looks at Kurdish culture and how the minority group's lives were shaped by a history of oppression. Carpets, looms, tea kettles and strings create a landscape in which three women embody being separated from the ones and the places they love and what this separation can do to the human heart. Accompanied by modern takes on traditional Kurdish music, the performance will share the experiences of many in the region.

The culture of Kurdistan is the influence for a new work by CP4P.

Our season is not over yet!

Say hello to artists from CP4P International Productions who are currently in residence at the Adams Theater.

They will be presenting scenes of a new production - “I will dance with those oak trees as long as” on October 28th in Adams.

After the initial presentation at the Adams Theater, the production will be touring the theaters in New York City, Chicago, Pittsburgh, DC, among many other places.

Inspired by the culture of the Kurdistan region in Turkey, this performance takes us on a poetic voyage into the life of the minority group from the mountains, a life which took its shape from endless oppression.
