Certainty!!
You know the insurance commercial where the guy says "we know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two" well that was my meeting today in a nut shell. We have told the administration what will work and why but yet they role out a plan and then are told again the reason it won't work. 30 years teaching!! Maybe, just maybe, I know a thing or two because I have seen a thing or two. So now the new plan is not happening. WOW!! You dont say!!

GERMS!!!
Back to school kid germs!! Teachers work in a petri dish filled with books and learning. I should wear a lab coat to work rather than a cute outfit! Begining of year is always worst. No amount of Sanitizer or as the kids call it "hanitizer" can stop the inevitable. Oh well, off to bed early, 4pm, hopefully rest will help.

BE TRUE TO ME!!!
This morning I have been thinking about what happens if I do not "follow their script with fidelity." What happens?? I really need to know. I would be staying true to who I am. Hmmmmmm...

SMALL VICTORY!
Right after school I had to go straight to hospital for my port flush. Every 28 days I go and will for the rest of my life. Everything worked beautifully! I will celebrate my small victories as they come my way. That is always such a stress because my port is finicky to say the least. WOO HOO!! I will be celebrating with pizza!

LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD!
My quote for my goal today is from "The Little Engine That Could". It was one of my favorite books as a child and who knows it would become such a symbolic quote that guides my life! It is all about perseverance and believing in yourself. I have a few copies in my classroom but sadly we are not allowed the time to read actual books to our students anymore. Maybe it can sneak it in some how.

GNOME TIME!!
There's no place like Gnome!! I color in the fall gnome micro image in the journal. This guy is tiny!! Smaller than a penny and about the size of the sharpened end of a pencil. I think I crushed it. But you be the judge and let me know.
