Come sharpen your skills with us!

The A.C.T. is excited to introduce our first workshop series. This workshop will focus on helping your child hone their audition skills in a fun and supportive environment.

During this four week series, participants will build confidence by playing theater games, learn how to prepare for auditions, and work on learning new material in large and small groups.

We will teach songs from different musicals, learn choreography, and work on acting techniques utilizing scenes from different shows.

The series will culminate in a mock audition. Each performer will have a one-on-one opportunity to go before our panel of teachers and showcase what they've learned, after which they will receive individualized, constructive feedback.

This workshop is appropriate for students in grades K-8. All experience levels are welcome.

Please register soon as space is limited. Visit www.the-act.org for workshop details.

This production has been postponed until the Fall of 2024.

The Acton Cooperative Theater (The A.C.T.) is thrilled to announce open registration for their Fall 2023 main stage musical: Magic Tree House: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens JR. Registration is open to students in grades K-12.

Jack and Annie’s tree house takes them to Victorian London in this holiday-themed story, where they learn the importance of charity and kindness through their friendship with legendary author, Charles Dickens.

The magic tree house whisks Jack and Annie back in time to the foggy streets of Victorian London, where they meet the famous, well-off author, Charles Dickens, who has a severe case of writer’s block. Jack and Annie also witness the hardships faced by the poor, and their efforts to help only land them in prison. Mr. Dickens rescues Jack and Annie, and they, in turn, help him escape the sad memories that haunt him. In the process, they inspire Mr. Dickens to write one of the greatest holiday stories of all time.

Auditions will take place Sunday, September 10th, 2023 at the Acton Congregational Church located at 12 Concord Road in Acton. Please visit www.the-act.org for registration and details.
