🧵❤️ Our Next Create it Studio Community Sew-a-Thon is November 10–12! ❤️🧵

We're turning scraps into smiles!

After our incredible Disaster Relief Sew-a-Thon, we found ourselves with lots of leftover fabric scraps. Rather than letting those beautiful pieces go unused, we're putting them to work for another wonderful cause!

November 10, 11 & 12, we'll be gathering at Create It Studio Retreat House in Acme to sew walker bags for seniors, which will be donated to local senior centers.

These handmade bags attach to walkers and give seniors a convenient place to carry their personal belongings. It's a small gift that can make a big difference in someone's everyday life. ❤️

✂️ Calling All Sewists!

Whether you're an experienced sewist or just love creating for a good cause, we'd love to have you join us. Come for a day or all three days and help us turn our leftover scraps into something meaningful.

🧵 We're Also Looking for Volunteer Longarm Quilters!

Our last Disaster Relief Sew-a-Thon produced an amazing collection of quilt tops, and now we need help getting them finished!

If you have a longarm quilting machine and would be willing to donate your time and talent to quilt some of these tops, we would be incredibly grateful.

Every quilt finished brings us one step closer to getting warmth and comfort into the hands of someone who needs it.

What an incredible first day to the final Create it Studio Disaster Sewing sew-a-thon for the year.

Day 1- cut all fabric into fat quarters for the designated pattern (square dance by Villa Rosa) and begin building child (12 FQ) and adult (20 FQ) kit bags. Large cuts sewn into backing fabric for tops.

Day 2 - (today) begin sewing quilt tops

Day 3 - (tomorrow) Sandwich the quilts, backing, binding for long arming.

Here are some photos from yesterday!

These quilts will be handed out for disaster needs on the west side of the Cascades. Thanks ladies for getting together and doing this gift of love and to all the generous folks who donated fabric and batting.

We will post more photos of the quilt tops we get done over the next couple days.

We are looking for long armers who have time to long arm these that are able to meet along the I-5 corridor between Bellingham area down to Olympia we could coordinate drop and pickup. The other option is coordinating at the Create it Studio for pickup and drop off which is open 11-3 Wednesday through Saturday.

Harvest on the prairie has arrived at Create it Studio!

If you grew up watching Melissa Gilbert as Laura Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie, this fabric collection is something special.

Harvest on the Prairie was designed by Melissa Gilbert, and we now have some of this beautiful collection at Create It Studio in Acme!
