Abrams Spotlight Productions, Inc. is a non-profit community theatre organization. is a non-profit community theatre organization formed January 2003.

Since 2007 we have been presenting three plays per year in our home, The Byng Community Theater. The theater was formerly the St. Louis Catholic Church in Abrams and we have done much to update the facility to make it performance-ready. We have installed a stage, lighting, a small dressing room, costume and props storage, and converted the vestibule area into a concession stand. We have also made

use of existing office space by making one the Box Office with a ticket window and the other a sewing/costume area. There are changes for the better taking place all the time. Our organization and the theater has become popular with Abrams and the surrounding communities. We have been involving children from age four and adults of all ages in acting, singing and dancing. We have also been training young adults to perform the lighting, sound, and backstage duties. We feel we are promoting the arts in young and old alike. Taking part in the productions has been wonderful for all involved and we have built many friendships through our involvement. Please come and visit us at our next show!

Set in Renaissance England, Something Rotten! follows two brothers who dream of writing a hit play - but finding success isn't exactly easy when you're competing with the biggest name in theater… William Shakespeare!

Packed with big laughs, outrageous characters, show-stopping musical numbers, and plenty of theater jokes, Something Rotten! is a love letter to Broadway and everyone who has ever dreamed of putting on a show.

🎓 Introducing Our Final 2026 Hollie Surber Memorial Scholarship Recipient – Sydney Surber! 🎭

Abrams Spotlight Productions is proud to announce Sydney Surber as our final recipient of the 2026 Hollie Surber Memorial Scholarship!

Sydney has grown up as part of the Abrams theater family, making memories on our stage and becoming a wonderful part of the community we love. We have been so fortunate to watch her grow, both on and off the stage, and we are excited to see where her next chapter takes her.

This fall, Sydney will head to DePaul University in Chicago, where she will study Film. We couldn't be more excited to watch her take this next step and pursue her dreams!

This scholarship holds an especially meaningful connection for Sydney. It is named in memory of her late mother, Hollie Surber, whose love, spirit, and connection to our theater community continue to be remembered and celebrated. ❤️

Sydney, we are so proud of you! Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, and best of luck as you begin this exciting new adventure. We know Hollie would be incredibly proud of you, too. ❤️

🎭 The Final Theater Throwback Thursday! 🎭

We’re wrapping up our Theater Throwback series with a trip back to December 2024 and Seussical the Musical!🎩🐘💗

This colorful, imaginative production brought the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss to life on the ASPI stage, filled with big characters, bright costumes, catchy music, and plenty of heart.

From the Cat in the Hat to Horton, JoJo, Gertrude, and the rest of the Seussical crew, this show was a joyful way to close out 2024! ❤️
