This armadillo tile was designed by artist Gretchen Kramp. While she orbited the ceramics world for several years, it wasn’t until 1995 that she began to make her own work out of clay. Since then, she has become a a full-time tile artist, exhibited in multiple galleries and fairs, and created public murals, including installations at the Detroit Zoo and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. We’ve archivally presented this piece in a red float frame from Fotiou’s “Tango” collection.

These are original crinoid fossils from the Cambrian period, dating back 520 million years! Crinoids are marine invertebrates with numerous feathery arms, and their descendants still live in oceans today, from shallow waters to depths of over 30,000 feet. We’ve designed this archival shadowbox presentation using an aged silver wood profile from Roma Moulding, fabric mat by Crescent Brands, and TruVue anti-reflective “Ultra Vue” glass.

Titled “Mountain Cherry,” this is a reprint of an original design by Japanese painter and printmaker, Kawarazaki Shodo (1889–1973). It is part of the “Shin-Hanga” (lit. “new prints”) movement of early 20th centrury Japan, which revitalized the traditional ukiyo-e artwork of the 17th to 19th centuries. We’ve archivally presented this piece in an ebonized Italian olivewood veneer profile from Larson Juhl’s “Lisbon” collection, matting by Crescent Brands with painted bevel, and TruVue 99% UV filtering and anti reflective “Museum” glass.

We started off by showcasing a signed limited edition print by Howard Watson, a hand-painted postcard by Manuel Di Chiara, and a vintage architectural rendering of the Abington Township Building and Police Station by Charles F. Rabenold. We then featured a reproduction of the famous Parisian map “Plan de Turgot,” and wrapped up the week with two original signed limited edition wood engravings by Herbert Pullinger, which are listed for sale! This is a reproduction of the famous “Plan de Turgot,” a highly-detailed isometric perspective map of Paris published in 1739. The original map was commissioned by the Parisian municipality chief Michel-Étienne Turgot, drawn by surveyor Louis Bretez, and engraved by Claude Lucas. We’ve archivally presented this piece in a bronze wood profile from Larson Juhl, matting by Crescent Brands, and TruVue 99% UV filtering “Conservation” glass.

This is a vintage architectural rendering by Pennsylvania architect Charles F. Rabenold (1883-1968). Done in watercolor and ink, it depicts the proposed design for the Township Building and Police Station of Abington Township, PA which was ultimately built in 1955. We’ve archivally framed this piece in a matte black wood profile from Studio Moulding, “Bruxelles” mat by Crescent Brands, and TruVue 99% UV filtering “Conservation” glass.
