The Arts Depot Artists and Community Working Together. Six resident artist studios
More than 200 members The gallery exibits rotate every 6/8 weeks.

The Spotlight Gallery is a juried exhibit area, the Members Gallery is reserved for association members on a first come- first served basis and the Founders Gallery is reserved for special exhibits. 7 Resident Artists work and demonstrate in their studios. Resident Artist's media include painting, weaving, pottery,glass jewelry, & folk art.

First Friday continues this fall in ! 🍂

As the seasons and weather change, First Friday welcomes a slower pace for fall and winter. Each month starting in October, one partner will host the evening, giving you a central location to begin your night before wandering through downtown at your own pace.

For the October 2nd event, The Arts Depot is your host venue. Start your evening there for the opening reception of the Highlands Camera Club exhibit, Moments, then keep the evening going with participating galleries, shops, restaurants, and more throughout downtown.

Here’s what else we know is happening in October:
📸 Dot+Hop Art Studio — Meet the artist, live painting & hors d’oeuvres
👻 Art Lab — Monster shadow puppet craft with Michael Ge**er, three Hallway Gallery exhibits, snacks & open artist studios
🖌️ Holston Mountain Artisans — Live artisan demonstrations
🛍️ All Things Custom, As Above So Below, and Dawn & Dusk — Extended hours and/or special offerings

Coming up! Tonight 5:00 - 7:00, Meet-the-Artists Reception with Aria Asbury in the Spotlight Gallery, Highlands Camera Club in the Founders Gallery, and Courtney DeYoung, Matthew Insonia, Virginia Hiss, and Julie Schwab in the Members Showcase Gallery. Everyone is welcome. Next Friday, October 3, join us for a special reception with Highlands Camera Club and First Fridays 5 - 8. Meet us on Main Street this First Friday 🎨

First Friday is happening this Friday, September 4th in downtown from 5 to 8 PM.

Wander through galleries and studios at your own pace and meet the artists that keep Abingdon vibrant. Keep the night going and catch a live performance, shop downtown, or grab a drink at a participating DORA beverage vendor to sip and stroll your way through the historic district.

Here’s what’s happening this month:
✨ Meet the artist + hors d’oeuvres at Dot + Hop
✨ Create your own animal buttons, snacks, and open studios at the Art Lab at William King Museum of Art
✨ Live artisan & stained-glass demonstrations at The Glass Peacock
✨ Dance demonstrations at Southern Appalachian Dance Academy
✨ Raku pottery workshop at Holston Mountain Artisans + demonstrations from wood carver Mark Blevins
✨ Open artist studios at The Arts Depot
✨ Local shopping, extended hours, music at local restaurants, & more

September is also the LAST First Friday of the year with free retro trolley rides from Experience Appalachia. Hop on and off at stops throughout downtown to make your art walk even easier.

Right now in our Spotlight Gallery you can experience the simplicity of farm life with Clara B. Thomas’ barnyard animals and pastoral scenes. Also visit our Members Showcase Gallery with Shelia Chapman, Ashok Chatra, Annie Parsons, and Patrick Watson. As always, admission is free. We invite you to catch these wonderful exhibits while you can; they close July 17.
