“Audio Mixer (late 1960s)

This mixer, which Willie Mitchell bought for only twenty dollars, was used on all of Al Green’s hits”

I was able to visit Royal Studio in Memphis on Monday. Owner Boo Mitchell gave me a tour—and an opportunity to photo graph this very, very interesting artifact! I’ve been wanting to get another look at it ever since I first saw it back in 1980. That hand writing on the bottom left of the mixer actually says “Willie + Al”!!! (World renowned producer, Willie Mitchell and world renowned recording artist Al Green)

The Band Wagon USA has a simple mission – to help you, both the musician and music fan. Our primary goal is to support musicians by getting their merch to fans. We do this so that musicians can spend their time doing what they do best – making and performing music.

I live and work in Lockhart TX. On Sundays 3-5pm I have a radio show on the low-power FM frequency here Radio Lockhart which has a broadcast range of about six miles. The town is also assigned a daytime AM frequency, but that is currently simulcasting a signal from an Austin station. Back in the 1960s, it featured Country music and Gospel (I think) and had the call letters KHRB. Its office, studio, and transmitter were in this small building at what used to be the edge of town. Attached is a link to a story from a disc jockey who worked there, BJ Benefiel, about having Cecil Moore's Diamondbacks from nearby Luling play on the air live from the building. Have a fine Thanksgiving, y'all!

HOUSE CONCERTS
As you may know, we have always preferred a listening room type of environment for our shows, rather than a typical bar or brewery's indoor space. It gives us a chance to be able to more personally engage with the audience, and to play more subtly when it's needed. So, with that in mind, if you or someone you know would like to host us for a house concert, please be in touch, we'd love to schedule something this winter or spring, and beyond, anywhere in the Baltimore, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania area.
