Community Foundation Annual Meeting

Celebrating Philanthropy with the Community Foundation of Dickinson County at the annual meeting and seeing some very special people honored for their generosity was an amazing experience. We live in a fantastic community and I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful thing. Sand Springs Venue is a beautiful place to hold any event and Lucinda Kohman with Lucinda's Katering always does a delicious and beautiful presentation with food. When I opened my studio several years ago, I chose the name “True Blessings” because my hearts desire is to be a blessing to each person I come in contact with. I strive every day to be the person God wants me to be. I fail……. like all of us, I fail….. often. But, I know that blessing others is part of who I am. Thank you just isnt enough.

To my amazing clients, and friends, Good morning!! A huge thank you to all of you. The love you have shown me this year, especially over the last several weeks has been amazing to experience. I can not thank you all enough. It is because of you that I am able to keep going in times like these.

As many of you may know, last month while our family was visiting my parents our vehicle was broken in to. ALL of our belongings, suitcases, camera equipment, Black Friday shopping Christmas presents, a cooler of food, etc was taken out of the back of our truck. What should have been a wonderful Thanksgiving with family quickly turned into a some what panicked adventure of police reports, dumpster diving and then shopping to clothe ourselves and the children. Praise God for our safety.

That weekend was the last time I spoke with my mother-in-law Sherri Kohman as she would soon be admitted to the hospital with COVID complications, then flown to Tulsa Ok to fight for her life. Over the next few weeks, our family rallied together and I had the honor of holding her hand, singing Amazing Grace and being at her bedside while she took her last breath and entered into the arms of Jesus. This past weekend we had services in Abilene and then in Satanta KS, followed by her burial at her family farm there.

I am so thankful for your love and support during this difficult time. There are so many people to thank. My village is amazing. Tossed n Sauced Pizza and Abilene Nutrition thank you for keeping an eye on the store and collecting packages as they were delivered. Kyle Campbell and Kendra thank you for opening your doors to our children when it was go time. Emily Glen thank you for being the best Meme in the world and stepping in to help when we had to be gone. Glen thank you for your love and willingness. Teri Kohman and Robert thank you for your help with kids and the farm. To Community Bible Church for all the help they have given to our family. To St Andrews Catholic School and church for the help they have given. To all my clients who have patiently awaited their digital images or prints. Some longer than my norm. And to all the others who have lifted us up in thoughts and prayers. Thank you just isn’t enough.
