January Self Portrait: Glitter
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday!
I had been waiting months to do this shoot lol. And I learned A LOT. Like don’t use fine glitter, chunky glitter will show better, and choose a color that is opposite of your skin tone! But I still managed to make it work, despite the challenges of this shoot. I’m definitely going to have to redo this one in the future!
Anyways, looking back on the past year, it wasn’t the best in my personal life. But in my professional life, I had a lot of growth, and excitement! I chose to put myself out there more and opened myself up to taking portraits. Which then lead me to meeting some amazing families!
And one of those families even gave me an amazing opportunity of going to the Autism Action Partnership Gala to network and meet more people. Which then lead me to be inspired by another local small business’ story when they won an award at that gala! I’ll always keep that night and that business’ story in my mind and close to my heart.
I then got to meet another small business owner, and she gave me another amazing opportunity to take pictures for her business! Which inspired me even more! I got to meet even more people and families through that opportunity, and I’ll be forever grateful for that.
And last but certainly not least, I got another opportunity to sell my landscape prints at a local shop! Which of course meeting the owner of that shop was also a great experience, and I hope to be able to continue with this venture as well!
Going in to this new year, I hope to continue to have amazing opportunities, and of course meet more amazing people! I have some fun things planned as well. I’m starting to get back into my watercolors, after a couple years of taking a break from them. I’m excited and so ready to get back in to them! And hopefully I can post more of that journey soon!
I just want to say thank you to everyone I have met this past year, you all have inspired me and have given me some amazing opportunities! I am forever grateful and I hope to meet more people, and of course would love to see those I’ve met again.
Also, thank you to my family and friends who have been so supportive! I truly appreciate you all!
Here’s to a new year!
