Signing off on our takeovers this summer is the lovely Sophie Huisken who plays Cinderella in Cinderella!! 🩵🩵🩵

Sophie is thrilled to be joining Great Plains Theatre for the first time! She is a NYC-based Actor, Voice Teacher, and Music Director, originally from Southern California. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (voice emphasis) from New York University, and a Masters of Voice Pedagogy (Musical Theatre) from Westminster Choir College at Rider University. Favorite acting credits include Portia (Something Rotten), Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Kate Murphy (Titanic the Musical), and Cinderella (Into the Woods). During the holiday season, she can be found performing throughout the Tri-State area with the New York Holiday Singers. In addition to her performing work, Sophie runs a private voice studio and works frequently as a Music Director in Middle and High Schools around New York. She loved watching the 1997 film version of Cinderella with her sisters as a child, and is grateful to have the opportunity to bring it to life onstage! More at sophiehuisken.com.

Get excited for a wickedly good double show takeover with Mary King who plays are Stepmother in Cinderella!! ✨👑

Mary King is excited to be making her Great Plains Theater debut. She was recently in The Stranger (Mrs. Huggins/Mrs. Birch) in Hannibal, MO, at Bluff City Theatre, but is a Salina, KS local. She has recently been in the production of The Pirates of Penzance (Ruth) at Theater Salina. She lives at home with her amazing other half and animals and is excited to share the stage with some amazing actors this month. A big shoutout to all those who have supported and believed in her passion for the stage.

Our gorgeous queen Haven Carter is taking over the Instagram today! Following along for an evening performance of Cinderella followed by highlights from our Cabaret directly after the show🩵!

Haven is happy to be making her professional debut here at Great Plains Theatre! Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, she is not new to the Midwest charm. Recently, she has been living in New Jersey while working in TV/Film, and stepping back into the theatre world, her true home. Her previous work includes Survival of the Thickest (Netflix), Tasha in ME (Bishop’s Kid Productions), and Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls (InterACT Theatre Productions). Check our story today to see how Sophia Kilburg conquers a double show day here at GPT!!✨👀

Sophia Kilburg is thrilled to make her GPT debut! Favorite credits include: Fiddler on the Roof,
Chicago, Miracle on 34th Street, Jersey Boys, The Rocky Horror Show, White Christmas, and
Seussical at Circa ‘21 Dinner Playhouse, Oklahoma!, and Holiday Inn at the Harmony Theater,
Sister Act and The Addams Family at Four Corners Musical Theatre, and Scout in To Kill a
Mockingbird at The Mockingbird On Main. Originally from Davenport, Iowa, Sophia graduated
from the University of Iowa with degrees in Theatre Arts and English. She teaches at
Keynotes Vocal Studio, and is a freelance director/choreographer in the Quad City area. She
would like to thank her family, her friends, and her partner Noah for their support!
