This is the season for regular bear sightings, if you spot a bear on the Grays Harbor College campus, calmly move in the other direction. Then, once you have caught your breath, please email [email protected] so we can inform students, faculty, and staff to be aware.

Grays Harbor Opera Workshop Auditions coming September 10th at 6:30 PM!

The fall opera production will be a condensed version of Offenbach’s dreamlike masterpiece The Tales of Hoffmann, presented in English with piano accompaniment.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES 8/24-8/26!

We are working with the Grays Harbor College Foundation on our annual donor appeal and need help next week assembling and sealing envelopes for mailing.

Perfect for anyone who needs any volunteer hours for school or is just looking for a way to help support the Bishop Center!

Happy to take whatever time you can give us Monday morning 8/24 or anytime Tuesday 8/25 or Wednesday 8/26 between 9 AM and 5 PM.

WE ARE HIRING A WORK STUDY!

Attention GHC students, we have been approved to hire a work study for the 2026-27 academic year!

The cool thing about working with us is that you can learn about more than JUST the performing arts, so don't be afraid to apply if that's not your lane, there is plenty going on behind the scenes that provide valuable skills as you move into your chosen career path.

That said, if you ARE interested performing arts and want to get involved in helping the Bishop Center 2026-27 programming thrive, apply today!

As you know, the auditions for the Grays Harbor College / Plank Island Theatre Company fall drama collaboration were combined with the Driftwood Players auditions for their fall musical!

Help us to congratulate the cast of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and be sure to catch their performances this fall!

♥️CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT♥️

Congratulations to the cast of our season opener! We had amazing talent turn out for both the Driftwood and Plank Island productions, casting was not easy with joint auditions, but luckily there was no brawling between directors.

Since this was a joint venture, the cast of Colorado (opening October 30) will be included in the comments after their announcement is up. Congratulations to their cast as well, we can’t wait to support Plank Island at the Bishop Center this fall!

A note from Alex- The read through for I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change will be Monday the 3rd at 7:30 in the Driftwood green room. I will assign roles there. We are still waiting for scripts and scores to arrive, so if for some reason they haven't come by then, I will let the cast know.

Congrats all! And thank you again to everyone who auditioned. There was lots of talent, some really tough choices, and we hope to see you all at the next one!

The Grays Harbor College 2027 musical will be Come From Away written by Irene Sankoff & David Hein.

We are excited to bring the shows message of kindness, unity, and resilience to the stage.

Come From Away Auditions will be held on Thursday, October 1st and Friday, October 2nd at the Bishop Center, follow us on social media for updates and announcements as we get closer to the date!
