Dear APG,
After 14 years and hundreds of missions, the time has come for me to retire — the last of the crew who has lovingly dressed our beloved Drain Baby.
It has been an honor to be part of the APG community and to witness the incredible outpouring of affection for our little mascot. Since his mysterious arrival at the Drain in 2011 — discovered during construction of what is now the C5ISR Center and placed in his now‑familiar spot — he’s been kidnapped twice, yet always found his way back home to Maryland Boulevard.
I’ve already heard from folks who plan to carry on the tradition of dressing Drain Baby, and that fills me with joy.
I hope 2026 brings you sunshine and rainbows — and may Drain Baby continue to remind us all of the spirit and camaraderie that make APG so special.
Signing off ...
