A quick note about repairs at The Game Shop.
Right now, I’m still a one-man army.
Repairs are only one part of what I carry every day. Behind the scenes, I am also responsible for:
• Repairs & technical work — diagnostics, cleaning, parts, soldering, testing, documentation, and making sure work meets the standard I want The Game Shop known for.
• Trades & inventory — buying collections, evaluating value, testing products, pricing, cleaning, organizing, shelving, and keeping inventory moving.
• Business operations — the point-of-sale system, bills, bookkeeping, paperwork, ordering, vendors, distributors, shipments, claims, and the daily mechanics of keeping the doors open.
• Events & community — tournaments, gaming nights, tabletop groups, special events, partnerships, and creating reasons for people to gather here.
• The Hangout — construction, layout, gaming stations, movie space, furniture, equipment, and turning an idea into a real place people can use.
• Movie rentals & physical media — building the rental library, packaging, organization, procedures, and preserving another way for people to enjoy movies together.
• Memberships & customer experience — designing benefits, services, pricing, access, and ways to give regular customers more value.
• Marketing & identity — social media, advertising, signs, flyers, displays, promotions, design, and communicating what The Game Shop is becoming.
• Systems & future staff — repair standards, procedures, manuals, training, quality control, and building systems that can eventually be trusted to other people.
• Growth & the future — researching equipment, technology, funding, partnerships, expansion, new services, and what this business could become years from now.
So yes, sometimes repairs take longer than I want them to.
Not because they don’t matter.
Because they do.
When I put The Game Shop’s name behind a repair, I want it done right—not rushed just to clear the bench.
And this has never been about building just another store.
It’s about building a place for people.
A place to play.
A place to trade.
A place to watch a movie.
A place to compete.
A place to meet people.
A place to belong.
Every repair, event, shelf, table, system, and late night is another piece of that vision.
Some days growth looks exciting.
Other days it looks like soldering irons, invoices, boxes, construction dust, and solving one problem after another.
But piece by piece, we’re building more than a business.
We’re building something for this community.
If you’ve supported the shop, attended an event, made a trade, rented a movie, trusted me with a repair, or simply walked through the door—you’re part of it.
I’m not trying to build something fast.
I’m trying to build something that lasts.
