AUDITIONS! CASTING CALL!

©Windy City Productions® & HayGood Productions™ in association with Abbeville Community Performing Arts is excited to announce a casting call for auditions for a new musical by Susan Rabin that will premiere on the Abbeville Opera House stage!

JIVE - The Musical, tells the story of a Black pastor and his struggling jazz radio station who must navigate the egos of racially and ethnically diverse employees. The Reverend, distracted by the flirtations of an attractive parishioner, desperately searches for a way to pull his team together and save the radio station. A political debate goes awry risking loss of sponsors while ambitions collide with humorous jibes that stretch the boundaries of political correctness.

Original songs are accompanied by music that is rich in bluesy laments and witty lyrics as the characters whine, trade barbs, and search for understanding and human connection despite their differences. At times hilarious and edgy, and at times heartwarming, this new musical is sure to entertain through the rhythm of blues, jazz, R&B, and pop.

Nunsense revolves around a group of nuns who, after discovering that their cook accidentally poisoned 52 of their sisters, find themselves in need of funds for the burials. The five remaining sisters decide to stage a variety show to raise the money. Each nun brings her unique personality to the stage, filling the show with song, dance, and comedic sketches. As the sisters share their individual stories and quirks, the audience gets immersed in convent life with humor and heart.
