Beyond the Shs2.18 billion in idle equipment, the hospital has only 268 of its 1,235 approved staff.

Wards meant to have four or five nurses per shift sometimes run with one or two, stretching workers across more than 50 inpatients at a time.

🚨 South Sudan has introduced new visa fees for Ugandans.

Ugandans will now pay:
• Single-entry: Shs185,000 ($50)
• 3-month multiple-entry: Shs462,000 ($125)
• 6-month multiple-entry: Shs924,000 ($250)

The new charges come despite Uganda being one of South Sudan’s biggest trading partners and host to about 900,000 South Sudanese refugees.

🚨UPDATE: A man identified as Okello was reportedly been publicly caned by members of his clan after being accused of having a romantic relationship with his brother's wife.

According to reports, the clan sentenced him to 100 strokes of the cane. The punishment was carried out by his brothers and uncles, with each male relative administering 10 strokes.
