Amus College Continues Rise After Winning 2026 USSSA Football Title
Amus College has continued to cement its place among Uganda’s football giants after winning the recently concluded 2026 USSSA Boys Football Championship. The Eastern Uganda-based school defeated Bukedea Comprehensive School 1-0 in the finals played in Lira, with John Brian Otim scoring the winning goal that crowned Amus College national champions.
The journey to the title was impressive. Amus College eliminated strong sides including Mentor SS, London College Nansana, and football powerhouse St. Mary’s Kitende in a tense semifinal decided on penalties despite finishing the game with 10 players.
The victory marks another major milestone for the school, which has rapidly grown into one of Uganda’s top institutions both academically and in sports. Over the years, Amus College has built a reputation for discipline, talent development, and competitive football, challenging traditional school football giants in the country.
Beyond sports, the school continues to perform strongly in academics while nurturing students in leadership and co-curricular activities. With the 2026 USSSA title now added to their achievements, many football fans believe Amus College is becoming the new force in Ugandan school football.
