Vorm media Voice of Refugee Media (VORM) is a youth-led organization based in Uganda, which uses storytelling to inspire change.

Through film, digital content, and creative arts, we amplify refugee voices, foster inclusivity and build career confidence. VORM or voice for refugee media acts as the medium or maiden of communication between the refugees themselves, supportive NGOs and also host communities. We utilise visual arts to foster cultural diversity, refugee advocacy and also creation of community relatable content

📢 VORM IS HIRING | JOIN OUR TEAM

Voice of Refugee Media (VORM) is seeking qualified and experienced media professionals to support intensive training module development, mentorship and practical skills development.

OPEN POSITIONS

1. Expert Trainers/Media Experts : 2 Positions

- Relevant degree: professional qualification in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media, Film/TV or related field.
2- 3 years relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in media training, facilitation and content development.
- Strong storytelling, communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with youth, refugees or marginalized communities is an added advantage.

2. Technical Mentors : 2 Positions

- Relevant qualification or professional experience in Media Production, Journalism, Film/TV or Digital Media.
- 2–3 years practical media production experience.
- Demonstrable skills in video, photography, audio, editing or digital content production.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and teamwork skills.
- Portfolio of previous work is required.

Yesterday we had a pleasure of welcoming Gerberding-Kobiella and Roomani at VORM (voice of refugee media) as part of our collaboration with the Toonda Cultural Community Center Uganda . The visit focused on exploring future collaborative storytelling initiatives and how we can create more opportunities for refugee communities to share their stories and amplify their voices.

We also shared a sneak peek of our developing studio space, which will support media training, community storytelling, and efforts to tackle misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech in the refugee community.
Grateful to Rayka Gerberding-Kobiella , Roomani, and UNHCR Innovation for being part of this journey.

‎On 18 September 2026, VORM Executive Director Levis Chidolo represented VORM at a Community-Based Protection (CBP) training organized by Amigo Women Empowerment Group (AWEG) and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
‎
‎The training explored how refugee, asylum-seeker and host communities can actively participate in identifying challenges, addressing risks, advocating for their rights and shaping solutions that respond to their realities.
‎Communities are not only beneficiaries. They are analysts, decision-makers and implementers of their own protection.

What happens when refugees get to tell their own stories?

They share their experiences with clarity, context and dignity and help their communities better understand what is happening around them.

At VORM, we believe that giving refugees, especially young people, the right tools and platforms to express themselves creates space for informed voices, meaningful conversations and action.

Because when people have the right information and the space to tell their own stories, they can help shape what happens in their communities.
