Reality & its wrath

I found myself holding a conversation with some few friends and how bitter they felt about helping people who turn out to either crash them, become bitter with them, turn their backs to them, go back to where they took them out from or utterly refuse to be helped. I discovered one common thing;

Sometimes you are busy trying to lift burdens off the shoulders of people who are actually enjoying their situations which to you, looks like suffering.

One thing is for sure, try to make sure the people you are running to aid truly need your help, find out if they are tired and want to change the situation, make sure you see the urge to better and not just to temporarily feel better and resume.

Gratitude comes from where help is appreciated, that’s why we have some people crying as to how they helped someone who seemed in need and this person turned against them or decided to go back to where they picked them up from. The question is, did they need your help? Was it what they saw in themselves or it is what you envisioned for them. Are your goals mutual?

Upon having a conversation with a few young friends at Arua Park who seemed culprits to the above issue, I discovered they also had a version to tell, explaining how they may have acted the way they did and I got to understand how easy it can be for one to identify the figure 6 which another person will see as a 9 from the angle they’re standing.

That is the agony of the ‘Saviour Complex’, which some people call guilt tripping or manipulation that some people who help develop to gain control through indebtedness.
Many people lose the sense of gratitude the moment the above flips in, where you are made to feel inferior or being reminded you are where you are because of them, or you are who you are because they did this or that for you.

This hit me hard too because in a way, you just can never tell when you were this person to someone or made someone feel that way and I thought to share, to help us realize that sometimes we help genuinely with a humane heart of making someone better but when we do it, let us let go of how it turns out and pray it works out well. The satisfaction is on the positivity when you share in the story and joy of this person’s success and that way, we surround ourselves with blessings we can’t even see or realize but God sees our hearts at the end of it all.

A moment of Silence to show my respect for him and express the grief I felt upon hearing of his sudden demise. A very young and Vibrant man he was! So independent minded yet so patient to listen to opinions though he didn't agree with them, that's maturity!
I wasn't close to Amos, but being a brother to my learned friend, I once had a chance to quietly sit next to him and his friends during a heated up argument over football, where I quickly appreciated these characters in him. He always said hello whenever we crossed paths and I appreciate the pleasant comments he occasionally threw to my updates on this app.

I condole with his family and friends and pray that only the Peace that comes through the Spirit of God, comfort your broken hearts.

He lived his life pleasing himself and that's the deal breaker so heaven has now gained a cheerleader, Rest on Amos.
