👋🏽 Meet the Woman Behind The Global Body Movement

Between 2012 and 2015, I sat in the audience of several fashion shows in Kampala and noticed something.

The women in the audience were curvy, confident and beautiful, but the runways didn’t reflect them.

So I asked myself a question: Who is fashion really speaking to? That moment changed everything.

My name is Doreen Namutebi, and in 2016 founded Plus Size Fashion Fest Africa to create a platform where African women of all shapes and sizes could be seen, celebrated and empowered.

What started as a bold idea has grown into a global movement connecting women through:

➡️ Fashion
➡️ Confidence
➡️ Community
➡️ Wellness

Today, PSFFA has built a global community with conversations and events connecting women across Africa, the UK and the diaspora.

Through our work, and our sister platform Plus Wellness, we are helping women become:

Empowered
Powerful
Impactful
Confident

We understand that confidence is not about size, it’s identity, voice and self-worth.

To every woman who has supported this journey, thank you.

👏🏾👏🏾Today we celebrate the incredible women who have poured their wisdom, knowledge and experiences into our .

Through honest discussions about body confidence, self-love, financial wellness, menopause, mental wellbeing and personal growth, these women have helped create a powerful space for learning, healing and empowerment.

At Plus Wellness, we believe wellness begins from within. Before fitness plans or nutrition programmes, we are building a foundation of inner confidence, self-acceptance and identity so that women can become truly comfortable, confident and unshakeable in their own skin.

To the women who have shared their voices with our community, we thank you for helping us build something meaningful.
