DERO KWAN is Acoli education pillar under Roco Paco. It was introduced by the initial Gure Me Pondwongo whose Co-chairs are Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo Chigamoi and Ambassador Dr. Olara Otunu.
In a nutshell, Dero Kwan is a scholarship fund to raise money to pay school fees for Acoli students who are brilliant but financially constrained. Every Acoli is encouraged to voluntarily contribute to this scholarship fund with 100% participation. The least amount of contribution is at least 1,000 shillings although contributions above 1000 are welcomed for those that can afford. By the 9th of April 2024, Dero Kwan had raised hundreds of millions of shillings. The process of contribution towards Dero Kwan has also been enrolled in 11 chiefdoms and collection of money is being spearheaded by Ludito kaka. Every community member who contributes towards Dero Kwan gets a receipt as proof of contribution. Bank Accounts and Momo accounts for MTN and Airtel were also unveiled for people who wish to contribute.

A song dubbed DERO KWAN was created by MC Wang Jok for this positive course. “I am here to spread the word, and this will one day be remembered as a great contribution as you all know education is aback bone of every society and education is the fastest vehicle that will get Acoli out of poverty”, Said Wang Jok.
