The Movie Premiere at TAKS Community Art Centre by our main organisation United Youth Entertainment was a revelation that our art nights have been progressive over time.
There was a lot on the menu, starting with Live paintings by three young and very much talented artists Richard Komakech Aol, Ivan Leku and Calvin. Then poetry by Piankhi (Mentored during The drama workshop earlier on the same day) and Vvanessa a Canadian poetess.
Da Solid dance crew entertained with their creative dances, while Bila Pa Rwot did the traditional Acholi dances Just before the gist of the event, CRYING FOR HELP Premiere and after the premiere the paintings that had been painted between 6pm and 7pm were auctioned and musical performances by top Gulu artistes set in, Rakas T**a, Pato Lavaboy, Black Mc, junior and Williams Band, and especial perforformance from the visually disabled artist known Abonga Moses, using a local musical instrument known as Nanga Abonga awed the audience with his rhythm and vocal power.
The event even the more special by the THE RED CARPET.
With support from Operation Groundswell, Crying for help was well produced despite the fact that the projector that was used for the premiere was faulty the audience were left wanting more and touched. Linda Ozromano (Front, in black short and grey top) had this to say "That movie really made me cry, i cried. That was beautiful". Linda is the team leader of a group of volunteers from canada, and it is because of her that we were able to get funding from OG to complete the production of the movie.
The DVD's of the Movie can be purchased at 10.000 Uganda shillings only. Simply leave a message behind in case you want one.
