UKC Troupe UKC TROUPE Our kids are trained in both traditional and urban music and dance by local and international artists. Please help our kids help themselves.

UKC MUSIC and DANCE TROUPE (UKC TROUPE) is a Kids Canada initiative. Our kids are trained in both traditional and urban music and dance by local and international professional artists that generously donate their time. Our projects help to keep our kids off the street and provide not only opportunities to travel outside of their village but give them an opportunity to raise funds for basic life

needs and school fees. Only 10-20% of profits, raised from shows are used to maintain costumes and instruments, for food and to help push Uganda Kids Canada projects forward at our UKC centre in Bombo, Uganda. Thanks for supporting our kids and their initiatives. https://kidscanada.wordpress.com/

"On our continued quest to find purpose in a contemporary society, there's nothing as pivotal as the spirit of the youths. I believe they're the template of every nation."

"As a fellow youth, I believe in setting a positive precedent in an attempt to hammer down stereotypes and societal labels building walls around the Ugandan youths."

At , we believe the leaders of tomorrow are the biggest assets of today. Am blessed to be part of this team ❤️🌹🙏🏾

A message to our beautiful world 🤍
Our hearts and thoughts continue to go out to all of the beautiful and innocent lives lost and displaced locally and globally every day. The mainstream media sadly fails to show us the crimes against humanity worldwide. Let’s change that; work with us to encourage our kids to be critical thinkers and continue to ask questions.💔

Just after 3am this morning my friends in Uganda were leaving me messages; there were 3 su***de bomb attacks in kampala shortly after 10am their time. One near the check point to the Central Police Station in Kampala and two on mopeds; these last two shattered 5 floors of windows on my friend’s family building on Parliament Road. Total of 6 fatalities, three were the bombers, many critically injured and all of us shaken.
These bombings were claimed by the allied democratic forces, an extremist group, but so many will be quick to judge innocent people based on their race or beliefs. Karim, one of my best friends, Is Muslim; many of my family and friends are. The world becomes a little less safe for him and others when a few unhappy people make very unhappy choices. Our thoughts go out to everyone in Uganda and those with loved ones there 💔

Heading into the rain season. Uganda grows so many delicious fruits and vegetables. We’re planting now but this is an example of how big our papayas can get; almost as big as our little Shevan. Jangu! 😋

The adungu is an African stringed instrument that is played by the Alur people in Northwestern and Northeastern Uganda and by the Acholi people in Northern Uganda. This beautiful instrument is an integral part of all traditional performances and our kids are mentored by some of Uganda’s best musicians.
