Yesterday, December 12, in Kyiv, a very successful and highly productive YOUTH WORKSHOP “MOBILE FILMMAKING” — from film idea to festival participation took place 👉 https://filmschool.kyiv.ua/doc

The workshop was organised by our team — casting director , British director and cinematographer , and of course… I was the one who stirred it all together 😊

We brought together more than twenty wonderful, promising, and talented young filmmakers to share practical tools for creating documentary films, as well as to help structure and develop the knowledge they already had.

Participants listened, filmed, introduced themselves, practiced a lot, learned how to work with light and composition, and how to build meaningful interviews with future protagonists.

All of this happened in a beautiful, warm, and welcoming space — even without electricity — at .

This November I found myself in the small Swedish town of … at Novemberfestivalen - arena för ung svensk film , a place where young cinema breathes, grows, and takes its first steps into the wider world.
This year the festival celebrated 30 years, but its true heart is Thomas Johnsson Palm and Tabbe - the gentle “parents” of this big, warm family of young filmmakers.

Here, people are connected by something much greater than just cinema.
It feels like a home where creativity is born from love, honesty, sincerity, and faith in the next generation of artists.
Every time I am amazed again and again by the results that emerge when creators are filled with openness and warmth.
These “children” of the festival : young directors from different countries - are forever united by a shared space of imagination and courage.

Thank you, , for the warmth, inspiration, and atmosphere that stays within me for a long time.

Чотири місяці онлайн-кіношколи документального кіно з британським викладачем та українською режисеркою Svitlana Pohasiy 😄

Попри постійні відключення світла, відсутність інтернету, обстріли й сидіння в коридорі під час тривог — усі учасники нашої кіношколи зняли документальні фільми про своє життя.
