Don't buy cooked or pre-cut foods. The markup for cooked food can easily go up to 50-100%, and for sliced products (cheeses, sausages, meat, etc.) up to 30-50%. For the preparation of such food, they often use (I know this firsthand) already spoiled or stale food (so as not to throw it away). We'd better not know who prepares this food and in what conditions :). And cut food also spoils faster.
