Every visit to Kuza Cave supports Zanzibar art and culture. Last week, we enjoyed hosting our first Creatives Market with  Internationally acclaimed artists and alongside other exhibitions.. breaking the wall between art and craft. We plan to do a creative market again on Feb 15th.

On this Sunday 25th we invite you to a fashion show with Tuntifady Designs by Amina followed by a theatre performance of the Leopard Queen and a musical tribute to Freddie Mercury, finishing up with live music in our tiny cave.

Something new is taking root at Kuza 🌿

Our monthly Creatives Market is here.
Following on from the fantastic turn out last week, the next one is Feb Sunday 15th 1pm to 6pm.

Come and meet the artists.
Wander through handmade work, original art, design, music, and objects with stories still warm in them.

Explore unique local creativity, connect with the people behind it, and spend the day in the cave, the jungle, and the community.

This market is about makers, conversations, and creative energy. Why not join us?

Kuza Jukwaa means “raising the stage.” And that is exactly what we are doing at Kuza Cave :growing artists, creating productions, raising the standard, growing the opportunities. It’s still in its infancy, but it’s real. It has structure already. It has people who are serious and committed. It has a shared vision.

• Natalie is our producer and leader — founder. She also directs and helps where ever needed.

• Mwenano is organiser and stage manager — the one who keeps everything moving and makes the impossible look normal.

• King Hasira is creative consultant and costume designer — bringing identity, power, and clarity to the stage.

• Orla Barry is a writer/director aswell as upskilling, helping shape the artistic direction of Kuza Jukwaa.

The goal is not one show and done. The goal is consistency. More productions. Better systems. Paid opportunities. A team that can create work that is professional, exciting, and uniquely Zanzibar. That can grow young artists into people who see theatre as a real path, not a hobby.
