From May 28 to 31, the 2026 World Mayors Dialogue · Huangshan was held, gathering mayors and officials from 9 countries. We chatted with Jelena Medaković from Belgrade, Serbia about heritage and urban development. Then a surprise: a same-named student in China sent a video to her. Her reaction? Pure pride.

On the evening of May 29, the “2026 World Mayors Dialogue Huangshan” officially opened. Centered on the theme “Mutual Learning among Civilizations Epitomized by Cultural Heritage,” the event brought together mayors and representatives from nine countries, including Germany, Italy, and San Marino. During the opening ceremony, the Huangshan Initiative was released, and several memorandums on friendly exchange and cooperation were signed.

5月28日，多国城市代表抵达黄山，为29号的“2026世界市长对话·黄山”开幕式及多场对话做准备。在泰国清莱府副府尹及夫人到来前，泰国留学生喊话“一定要来爬黄山”，还盼着双方能互相学习交通、城市治理等方面的优秀经验。

As city representatives from around the world arrive in Huangshan for the 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue Huangshan event, Thai students have already put one thing on their must-do list: climbing Huangshan Mountain. Ahead of the arrival of the Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai and his wife, Thai students also shared their hopes for deeper exchanges with China — especially in transportation, urban governance, and city development.
