We reviewed what we have learnt up until now. We looked at the ultrasonic sensor and the three parts of a sound system. We also took a closer look at the battery. We learnt about all the individuals involved in the discovery of electricity. We learnt about the rivalry between Edison and Tesla. We soldered one of the hardest components yet, only some students made it…the rest learnt valuable lessons. This was really a fun class … for most

SummerCamp’26 Soldering101 >> LEDs, resistors, transistors, capacitors, buzzers, thermistors, push buttons and photo resistors done and dusted! We learnt how to use a multimeter to troubleshoot and we learnt decent soldering techniques, even fixing mistakes! The last three days were crazy busy.

試上課程來囉～

近期我們收到不少家長有意讓孩子來參加整學期的課程，但希望能更了解我們的課程模式（最大疑問：到底是英文課？還是美術課？），於是我們將於8/15週六開放兩個付費體驗梯次：10am~11:30am / 1pm~2:30pm.

我們的全英語體驗課程是陶藝課，主要目的是讓新的學員們來體驗我們的上課環境，並非在第一堂課就做出厲害的陶藝作品喔！

每個梯次只有八個名額，符合以下條件的孩子們歡迎報名！
1. 今年升小一～小六 從未在我們這裡上過任何課程（包含試上）
2. 不排斥用全英語上課
3. 若有興趣週一～週五課程，除了莊敬及同安國小，其他學校須家長自行接送。

體驗課程優惠價為500元整，不含燒製作品費用（若需燒製，費用為500元），若九月開學後報名整學期的課程（週一～週五 1pm~6pm之間課程），則體驗費用500元可折抵。

LaCartoneria SummerCamp >> We reversed-engineered a dragon. We made our own templates. We cut patterns and assembled. We invented our own axle bolts from cardboard and chopsticks! We even learnt how to tie rope like soldiers…Frida Kahlo taught us that sometimes bad things happen but we can make plans with skills we accumulate.

SummerCamp Week 4: Exploring the practice of LaCartoneria! We learnt about Frida Kahlo before we look at Pedro Linares. We had a complete sweatshop with Ray as the floor manager! We learnt about cardboard ‘grain’ and various cutting tools. So far the only injuries were our teacher’s hot glue fingers…

SummerPrepperCamp with Wisdom homeschool! In four days we covered water preparedness, all things 🔥, food security and bugging out. After each lesson we prepared practical objects. We also looked at toxic and edible local plants, learnt how to find our location on a map as well as orientating it and using a compass. We learnt about good knives and how to use them safely. This past week was boatloads of fun, we’ll miss Daxi very much!

這張人類史上最長單一曝光的照片，只要是有來過Liezel's 針孔成像課程一定有看過，也一定有聽過背後的故事！

但往下刷一下留言，有些留言真的令人噴飯... 原來，超多人完全沒聽過人類千年前就發現的攝影方法啊！

我們的針孔成像課程在最後一天，會讓每位學員帶回一個鋁罐相機，讓他們裝在自家陽台或花園，過幾個月或幾年後再拿來讓我們沖洗，目前，只有一位學員帶回來過，很可惜的，因為台灣潮濕的天氣，鋁罐打開時上面的感光相紙已是滿滿的黴菌了 😭 還沒帶回來給我們的學員們，歡迎八月中前帶來給我們『開罐』，希望有好的結果～

我們8/24~8/27這週的夏令營『光子FUN樂週』，其中一個活動就是製作針孔相機，最近剛釋出一個名額啦～ 想要讓孩子趁開學前，探索一下存在千年如今卻不太為人知的科學奧秘嗎？這是最好的機會啊 🤩

如果無法參加，開學後的週五下午也有開一個班，除了動手做出不同款式的相機，外出拍照＆在我們的自製暗房沖洗照片，‘還有滿滿的古人智慧故事可以聽喔！

2012 年，一名英國學生，用啤酒罐做成的針孔攝影機，綁在天文台做個短期實驗，結果他忘記這件事，8年後才被人發現。

上面記錄著 2953 次，日升日落軌跡，最高的是夏至，最下方最矮的是冬至。

We kick off with Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, we will take a close look at the author's life and Iranian background.
We will move on to Small Boat by Vincent Delecroix, we'll investigate what it means to be a refugee.
The point of this class is to deepen our understanding of contemporary global issues through various individual experiences.

Four projects done and dusted in record time! The smallest most difficult chip on the last project was mostly a success to everyone’s surprise! All tools were maintained and organized properly after the class which made our teacher very happy!
