1. What do you think your teammate brings to a scene that you don't?

Diana: My teammate is super detailed with object work, making any action or activity very believable

Andrei: Diana does a great job at finding connections and making brilliant callbacks.

2. When your teammate makes a choice you weren't expecting, what do you secretly hope they'll do next?

Diana: That they continue to surprise themselves and make fun discoveries

Andrei: I always hope to be surprised by my partner. After I react to her choice and figure out what she's going for, I hope that we might have the same idea about where the scene could go.

3. If the two of you were trapped in a monoscene together for an hour, what kind of story would inevitably emerge?

Diana: Most likely a very grounded monoscene, with a lot of emotional truth

Andrei: Our characters would each reveal hidden feelings and the story would get tense, then go a bit quirky, and would end with some dark humor.

4. What is one thing your teammate does that always makes you laugh?

Diana: Whenever they play a character with a twist, like a toddler that is very intellectual and mature

Andrei: Whenever she's just having fun playing characters so ridiculous that she cracks herself up, it always makes me laugh.

5. What kind of trouble are you most likely to get into together onstage?

Diana: Probably being super committed to something said on stage and we have no choice but to do it like dancing or a rap battle

Andrei: We're likely to take the story down a bizarre rabbit hole with no way out except to dig through the other side.

🍖 It’s David! 🍖

David thrives in the kind of improv that keeps performers beautifully off-balance. What he values most in a scene partner is someone willing to play rough in the best possible way — someone who enjoys being messed with and can fire that energy right back. For David, that unpredictability keeps improv alive and prevents it from becoming formulaic. Unsurprisingly, he gravitates toward heightened absurdity over grounded realism; why limit yourself to the logic of this world when you can invent a stranger one? His scenes often spiral into themes of existential dread, conspiracy theories, and bizarre superstitions, populated by characters whose contradictions make them irresistibly human: braggarts who collapse under pressure and timid nobodies who somehow triumph. When it comes to ensemble work, David’s philosophy is simple: stay flexible, stay open, and maybe develop just enough personality fragmentation to adapt to anything.

🕺 It’s Baker! 🕺

Baker approaches improv the same way they approach great relationships: start with connection first and see where it takes them. Their favorite suggestions are relationships, because nothing is juicier than exploring the dynamics between characters from the very first moment of a scene. If their improv style were a food, it would be popcorn — versatile, satisfying, a little unpredictable, and somehow always a good idea. Performing improv in different places has only reinforced what Baker believes matters most: openness, listening, and trusting the game. No matter the city or stage, those fundamentals always bring people together. Of course, even experienced improvisers have fears, and Baker’s nightmare scenario is suddenly realizing they have absolutely no idea what’s happening in the scene anymore. If they could give beginner Baker some advice, it would be simple: relax, listen, slow down, and actually enjoy the ride.

🦇 It’s Andrei! 🦇

Andrei is the kind of improviser who can casually reference obscure historical facts mid-scene… or confidently invent complete nonsense that sounds so believable even he starts questioning whether it might actually be true. Inspired by the seamless ensemble storytelling by Lattitude Improv at the 2019 Manila Improv Festival, he’s drawn to improv that feels deeply connected, fluid, and alive. Onstage, he especially loves exploring the comedic agony of one-sided love and emotional obliviousness. Years spent devouring trivia, Wikipedia rabbit holes, and library books have somehow become the perfect training ground for improvisation, giving him an endless supply of suspiciously specific details. Artistically, Andrei’s philosophy is simple: say yes first, panic later. Taking risks on collaborations — even when feeling wildly unprepared — has led to new creative opportunities and lasting artistic connections. If his improv were a film genre, it would absolutely be an awkward teen indie movie: emotionally messy, painfully sincere, and just a little bit strange.

🐉 It’s Gloria! 🐉

Gloria loves the kind of improv suggestion that seems deceptively simple: a single word. For her, the magic is watching one tiny prompt explode into wildly different ideas as teammates spin off in unexpected directions. If her improv style were a food, it would be crunchy peanut butter — textured, comforting, and full of surprises. Though her improv world has so far been centered in Taipei, she’s already learned to embrace uncertainty onstage… even if the first few minutes of a scene still occasionally leave her staring into the void searching for inspiration. Physical or sporty scenes remain her personal nightmare — apparently pretending to play sports is harder than the real thing! If she could give beginner Gloria one piece of advice, it would simply be: take it easy. Which is excellent advice for improv… and life in general.

🔥Meet Sean!🔥

Sean is an improviser, actor, director, and storyteller with over 20 years of experience creating scenes out of thin air. From high school improv games to Russian dramatic character études, his journey has stretched across stage work ranging from Shakespeare to Sondheim, film, live roleplay, and voice acting. In Taiwan, he has performed with FIG Formosa Improv Group 福爾摩沙即興組合, Three-Body Problem - improv group, Say When Comedy, and SIN Stories In the Now, while also building a career as a professional TTRPG Game Master, where improv is part of the job every single session. He’s also the regular host of the 3×3 Taipei Improv Battle. Sean has trained with renowned improvisers through workshops and festivals including the 2023 Manila Improv Festival, 2024 Singapore Improv Festival, and 2025 Vietnam Improv Festival. Recently, he directed and hosted “Whose FIG Is It Anyway?” — a fast-paced improv show inspired by the legendary TV series. You can catch him performing weekly on Tuesdays at Another Brick with Three Body Problem!

Diana is drawn to the emotional truth hiding inside even the wildest stories. Her favorite audience suggestions are real memories and lived experiences — starting points that can blossom into entirely new narratives while still preserving the emotional core of the original story. If her improv style were a cuisine, it would be fusion: diverse flavors blending into something distinct, layered, and surprising. Performing across different countries and cultures has deepened her belief that storytelling transcends language, connecting people through shared fears, emotions, and experiences. Though she still finds improvised singing intimidating, she admires the skill and is determined to keep pushing herself. If she could give advice to her younger improviser self, it would be simple: don’t be afraid to bring your own flavor — improv is richest when everyone plays differently.
