today i took a solo date to the barbican centre.

exploring alternative media is something i feel incredibly passionate towards. i would by no means consider myself a fashion historian, however as a creative, seeing how other per-sue the arts and display their character is so incredibly moving and inspiring.
outside of this exhibition, i found myself leisurely strolling through the brutalist city that stood above, never once seeing the ground beneath me. raw, towering, monolithic structures.

i’m glad i dated myself for the day.

The legend of the Wendigo (Witiko) was born from the cautionary tales of the Algonquian people of modern-day Canada and North America.
These powerful entities were said to possess the souls of people who were overcome by greed. The Wendigo is most commonly known for claiming the lives of those who resorted to cannibalism in the isolation of harsh winters, although most forms of extreme selfishness and gluttony often attracted the insatiable appetite of this harrowing spirit.

I have SO MUCH MORE to say about this incredible icon of folklore, as well as many other stories behind my art and inspiration. Keep your eyes out for some exciting updates soon 😉
