This is an in-depth work, with anthropomorphic expression and hand-made texture of love, corresponding to the social background of the 21st century.

The gorgeous Persian script was often written in Persian art to be a part of decorative patterns.

Sepideh Rahaa (b.1981) was born in Iran and now lives in Finland.

Her creative art ideas can be extended to everyone. Are we restricted by social values ​​and family? What is the purpose of our existence?

美麗的波斯文，過去經常書寫於波斯藝術形成裝飾圖樣。

賽碧德．拉哈（Sepideh Rahaa, b.1981），出生伊朗，現居芬蘭。

她的創作媒材，除了繪畫，還有錄像、行為、裝置等，常展覽於西方的美術館。

她的作品對於自身受到社會及文化制約，有相當大膽的反思，在西方引起許多爭議討論。

台灣較少機會接觸到這類作品，其思維可延伸至每一個人，尤其是亞洲，是否也受到社會價值及原生家庭制約，自己存在目的究竟為何？

李明學受邀為 2024 臺南新藝獎邀展藝術家，搭配臺南新藝獎的策展命題「無際棲域」，以對於觀看物的邏輯思維變化與得主傅寧的作品呼應，試圖在影像、繪畫與物件間產生視覺縫合。


李明學的作品關注商場中的各式物件，找尋在藝術脈絡上的潛在意義。藉由幽默的手法與重新閱讀生活周遭中的物件，檢視被媒體、教育與社會框架中對各種事物/物件的慣性理解。透過反轉各項物件的使用方式、轉換外觀的造型或是被觀看的角度，在探索當代藝術的可能性上，創造出輕盈感受的另類解讀。

James Ming-Hsueh Lee was selected as the guest artist of Next Art Tainan in 2024. In line with the curatorial theme of Next Art Tainan, "Artcross the Universe", his logical thinking about viewing objects echoes the work of the winner Fu Ning, trying to combine images, paintings and objects. Create a visual seam between them.


James Ming-Hsueh Lee’s works often center on the objects found in the stores. He searches for alternative meanings in relation to art contexts. With a penetrating sense of humor, he reexamines and reflects upon the habitual understanding of ‘things’ indoctrinated by the media, education and society.


Through reversing the usage of the objects, transforming their appearances or people’s perceptions of them, the artist is able to offer refreshing and amusing interpretations, creating relaxing feelings to asset other possibilities for the exploration of contemporary art.

「大部分是從疫情開始後兩年間的作品，在那段期間因為外出與旅行的限制，我便利用這段時間，重新檢視過去所拍攝的大量圖像，決定使用一些與以往不同的觀點來創作，這次作品本質上如同夢境，我意圖使他們幾乎像是通往其他維度的入口般，我在邁阿密、洛杉磯、棕櫚泉、南加州等地收集影像材料，將這些不同的影像縫合，增加及拼貼其他元素，我想使這些圖像不是客觀地呈現城市景觀，而是更像是一種用影像表達及呈現繪畫靈感的方式，讓影像藝術發展出稍微不同的道路。」— 喬治．伯恩 （George Byrne）

Powen Gallery is pleased to present "George Byrne: Infinite City" solo exhibition at Paujar Tanmei Gallery. The show runs from March 20 to April 17. Please feel free to visit if you are in the area.

"Most of the works were created over the two years since the beginning of the pandemic. During this period of limited outings and travel, I took the opportunity to revisit a vast array of images I had captured in the past. I decided to approach my creations with perspectives that differed from before. This series essentially resembles a dream, with the intention of making them feel almost like gateways to other dimensions. I gathered image materials from various locations such as Miami, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Southern California, stitching together these diverse images and adding and collaging other elements. My aim was not to objectively present urban landscapes but rather to express and present painting-inspired ideas through imagery, paving a slightly different path for the development of photographic arts." - George Byrne

The sculpture, “Go Up”, is currently bathing in the sun in Spain.

The red balloon is tied to the body; and acts as a timely reminder implying a relaxing yet clever attitude. An attitude that shifts away from the heaviness and chooses to let go.
