Baarde is a narrative-driven album in which sound continuously evolves, shifting from complex and soothing textures, tinged with moments of brutality, toward a darker, more melancholic atmosphere in the latter half of the record. The album unfolds as an emotional and psychological journey, moving through themes of pride, ecstasy, violence, banishment, and ultimately, rebirth.

At the core of the project lies an exploration of voice as material. Through extensive manipulation and transformation, vocal elements—drawn from both pre-existing sources and the artist’s own recordings—are stripped of their conventional function and reconstituted as textural foundations, shaping dense, tension-filled sonic environments.

Paris based Lukann has built his practice around the fusion of field recordings, ethereal textures, and sharp, impactful sound design since 2017, crafting immersive compositions driven by a strong sense of narrative. His work operates in the space between calm and tension, continuously exploring how sound can shape emotion and storytelling.

Drawing inspiration from both the isolation and wilderness of the French countryside and the gloomy, monumental, and abandoned structures of suburban landscapes, Lukann develops a sonic language that is cold, enclosed, and charged with atmosphere. Since 2019, he has been an active member of the clublatemusic and globalurlnation collectives.
