I am a part-time artist from Trinidad and Tobago who would love to get feedback on my work. I enjoy challenges and new requests; it makes life just a bit more interesting that way! However, the most important part of sharing my work is connecting with an emotion, a memory or just something that can bring about a smile or some positive energy within. I believe there is purpose to everything and even when something isn't relatable it can implant a new idea or concept in one's mind.

Got the opportunity to be someone's Secret Santa and of course I needed to ensure that a hand painted personalized card accompanied the gift!
A stag drinking a "Stag" as a humorous cartoon which luckily was met with great joy by the recipient was the best part of all for me!

This is my biggest acrylic painting 24"x36"! I'm so grateful when clients trust me with special requests like this. It pushes me out of my comfort zone and I learn so much throughout the experience. It only makes it more rewarding when I realize that I've met the challenge!
Everytime a client asks me to paint a piece, it always feels like an honour to me. The thing about a specific request is that whatever a client envisions must become my vision. I must see exactly what they conceptualize. There must be a synergy created to allow their story to unfold. This means I must be able to bring the magic out of words or memories and build it into a tangible and credible connection. It must evoke their truth more than my own. This is what I love about creating art. It's more than just something pretty, it's about heart, soul and depth. It's being able to share an energy, something positive or something relatable or just carry you through an emotion.

Last year, I had one of the best birthdays on a short hike to Mermaid Pool and it was such a beautiful memory that I felt compelled to turn one of my many photos into a painting. I really wanted to challenge myself to paint this within a 6 hour period like I used to when I did CSEC Art examinations in secondary school. I am so proud of myself for completing this piece in approximately 5 hours total. It is my hope to do more pieces like this and to also complete in the shortest amount of time. I really enjoyed this a lot. It was so much more satisfying than anything I've completed in quite some time. The whole process was like meditating and reflecting and throwing me way back to high school days when I was so young and happy. Let's hope I can keep this up and do even more. Let me know what you think of my interpretation of the reference photo. This is a 9"x13" acrylic painting. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

When a mum asks me to paint a portrait of her adorable baby girl, I could not be more honoured! After a total of about 20 hours of painting, I finally completed this acrylic 9"×12" painting.

"It's okay to not be okay!"
Positivity is not about always being okay and being happy but knowing that it is okay to not be okay in a moment and that even that too shall pass and there will be better moments to come! For those who need to hear it, "It's going to be okay!"
