Today, Beach & Associates pays tribute to a true craftsman of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, Mr. Pascal Ramkissoon.
Mr. Pascal was a quiet pillar of the mas fraternity whose work touched countless bands, designers and masqueraders throughout Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean.
For us at Beach and Asociates, a visit to Mr. Pascal’s workshop was never just a business transaction because it always came with a story of Carnival history, legendary portrayals, past bandleaders and his own involvement in key moments in mas throughout the years. He always had advice to give on how to decorate a mould or bring a concept to life.
Many of the faces, masks and sculptural elements seen in these photos were made possible through his craftsmanship and creative guidance. His work helped shape the storytelling and artistic identity behind many of our portrayals throughout the years.
The Carnival community has truly lost a cultural gem.
We extend sincere condolences to his family, loved ones and all those within the mas fraternity mourning this tremendous loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his legacy continue to live on through the art and culture he helped shape. 🙏🤍
