RIP Zan Algoo 🕊

This memorial piece is exquisite. Both hands were casted and finished in bronze, installed on a rotating base and adorned with white roses and flowers.

To finish this of, I've added an engraved tag to the wooden base and a glass enclosure to keep it safe. I've also added a mirror to the back panel.

🕊Rest in eternal peace Jelani 👼

Jelani was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1, a rare genetic condition that affects the muscles used for movement, swallowing and breathing. SMA is the leading genetic cause of infant death, yet many still don’t know it exists.

His mother, Argelia, entrusted me with preserving his tiny hand and foot in a memorial casting and we also included an engraved tag, a photo of Jelani and the little yellow bus that he once held in his tiny hands.

By sharing Jelani’s story, his mom hopes to bring more awareness to this heartbreaking condition and encourage early screening, support and compassion for families affected.
Let’s honor Jelani by learning more, sharing his story and helping to shine light on SMA.
