The first time I wore a 2 piece bathing suit. Circa 2015.
My favorite aunt passed, she always encouraged me to be a hot gyal but I did not have the confidence, body dysmorphia was doing ya girl dirty. But I got into Insanity and changed my eating habits (could have easily been an eating disorder, but I digress).
I bought this suit for $50, and the first time I got to wear it (the day this was taken) it was the week of my aunt's funeral. Her sister decided to take the picture and because I didn't know how to pose she told me to give her more and look happy... exactly something aunty Michelle would say, I believe aunty was proud the day I took this... I posted this everywhere, I sent it to people... I did the most. This day was the start of something beautiful.
I am still becoming... when I start to make them coins and start to ✨dress✨ I hope y'all ready.
God saved y'all from the lower back length locs but when those fits start coming together... y'all better start taking a number all now... line up quick.
Also, to that random lady who started calling me "dancer girl" on the field in Tobago when I was 7, I love when people see me, thank you.
and Thank you to Uncle Boy for dancing with me in Mama Ma's family days, a sincere "sick bad, sick mad" to you in heaven. I wish you were here to threaten my prospective partners because I know you'd have followed through.
