“What’s Up?” for Classix Productions 2013 Coming on the heels of yet another successful year in the Junior Carnival arena (medium category), Classix Productions recently launched their 2013 presentation “What’s Up?” designed by Robert Frederick. Although one may immediately think the title refers to how someone may be feeling, the name actually depicts aerial elements. The band features nine (9)
sections that portray elements with which we are all familiar: the traditional kite competitions during Easter Time, a cloudy rainy day followed by the peeping of the clear skies and the rainbow shinning so bright or the brilliant full moon at night surrounded with so many shimmering stars. Appropriate for their (five) 5 year and under masqueraders, both boys & girls is the section “Stars of Tomorrow”, which plays on the potential of children and the starry sight at nights. In the 5-7 age group there is “Come Fly with Me”, which provides masqueraders with a choice among three (3) differing kite designs. For the following age group 7-9, there are two sections for boys and girls, “Somewhere over the Rainbow” and “Rings of Saturn”. These sections depict a rainbow theme and the planet inspiration respectively. Girls in the 9-11 year category would enjoy the “Clouded Skies” and “New Moon” sections which demonstrate the heavenly manifestations of clouds and the moon. “Rays of Light” caters for boys 9-11 years and is a burst of colour sure to attract a lot of attention on the road. For those children 11 years and older, the final two (2) sections introduce the human element of “Fireworks! Fireworks!” and a celestial phenomenon that is the“Rosette Nebula”. The Mas Camp is situated at #1 Suffolk Road, Belmont and interested persons may contact Ms. Vanessa Forde, Band Leader at 759-8936 or 627-0393 as well as any other committee member
